Similarly, one might think that the generality seen in one manifestation is also present in another, but not that all manifestations are of the same nature. If that were the case, "recognition" and so on would be mentioned. Therefore, "therefore" and so on conclude, and "one" refers to the generality. What is seen in many manifestations, for a person, also has mixed differences, and the mixed differences are the same form, and it is unreasonable to correspond to that knowledge. For those who say to exclude others, there is no fault, so "due to confusion" and so on are mentioned, which is a synonym for "due to the power of confusion." "Thus" means that the nature is the same. If the reason for recognition is that the generality becomes a real thing, then because it does not exist, it should not be confused. If you say so, then "real things are meaningless, it becomes one" and so on will be mentioned, and knowledge and so on make that meaning one, which is a state of action. "Those" refers to the inverted things. Experience itself is the door, the cause. Therefore, because the essence of nature has the result of confusion, it is the cause that makes the result of confusion manifest, therefore it is the cause of confusion. Therefore, this explains that the cause of the confusion of recognition is only through the way of transmission, those differences are, not the generality. Then, mirages and so on will not occur as mistaken for water, because there is no reason. For the time being, the nature of water is not like this, because it does not exist. Steam and so on, which are not the essence of water, are also not, because it would be too extreme. It is visible that mirages and so on are mistaken for water, therefore, among the things that are not the essence of water, such as mirages, what is mistaken for water through what is seen? Not through its own nature, but is there something slightly similar to the essence of water? Therefore, "mirages and so on" are mentioned, and the first word "and so on" includes ropes and so on, and the second includes being mistaken for snakes and so on.

Moreover, even though the causes of illusion are different, the forms are not different, because the cause of the knowledge that "this is water" is whatever is experienced, that is, the essence that produces it, which is the essence of water and mirage things. As it is said, the knowledge of experience temporarily leaves the habit of identifying as the form of water. This habit will also be awakened by the self-characteristic of the experienced water, and similarly, it will also be awakened by the experienced thing called mirage, because it is essentially like that. Therefore, just as experiencing water produces the form of identifying as water, so does experiencing the thing called mirage. Therefore, water and mirage are the cause of the illusion of water due to the experience of things. It will not be too excessive, because it is not the similarity of the essence of water, but due to the power of things, the mirage itself becomes the cause of identifying as water. Therefore, in all cases, the reason for identifying as water, etc., is to pass on its own characteristics, rather than becoming a universal thing. It indicates it by "what is in it" etc. In that, it refers to the mirage. Like that, it refers to the essence of water. Other refers to the similarity between water and mirage, which is different from its own characteristics. However, if the universal existence is admitted, then merely grasping the universal thing itself will not cause illusion by grasping the meaningful thing. If it says "unreal" etc., it means that saying that illusion is caused by grasping the universality of the mirage is not the case, but because the form of water is attached. Those who hold sectarian views said "then" etc. That refers to the idea of water arising from the mirage, which should be combined with not grasping the universality of water and mirage. Why? Because he said "only form" etc., what is the form of water

It is thought to be "that." This intelligence's object is only that, and not something that has become a generality, because it does not cling to anything other than what should be imputed, and it completely avoids the contradiction of clinging to correct and incorrect things as one. Why should what is to be imputed be the object? Because it mentions "not having been made the object," and so on. Just like other things, such as fire, etc., one does not impute upon them, because at that time it is not the object. "That" refers to the appearance of water, that which should be imputed, but since it is not present in a mirage, it is not a generality. If, just as water has the nature of water, it also appears in mirages, then at that time it would become a generality. The cow that is not present in the brightness of a horse is not their generality. If it is said, and so on, then the generality of water and mirages is not the appearance of water that should be imputed, but rather, other than that, only the similarity between water and mirages is the generality, and if there is clinging to that generality, then there it will be imputed as water, otherwise it will not. If a mirage does not cling to something that is like water, then how can it be imputed as water there? If one admits to imputing water without clinging, then it would be too extreme, because even for things that cling to the nature of fire, etc., it would be imputed as water. If it is said that whatever is called water and mirage, their respective characteristics, that is, those that consider the result to be water, if there is clinging to those that have a unified state, why would one not want to impute water? As it is said, the similarity that is separate from the generality of water, only in mirages is water imputed, and not in other things, because by nature only they are the nature that produces that. If there is no generality, then different things would not have the ability to produce the same result. Even if one admits generality, it is mentioned, and so on. This has already been explained in the middle of "one understanding, knowing the meaning, etc., some people in order to accomplish one meaning." Therefore, it is because of the ability to produce the same result. For other things
