If one eliminates each of the blue things, etc., visual consciousness arises, and it is not that there is no function in their aggregate. Similarly, if one eliminates each of these individually, it is not that there is no function at all times because it arises. If you say that, it is an inappropriate analogy. Like this: For visual consciousness of blue, etc., because the function is seen separately, the function is also established in the aggregate. How could it be otherwise after eliminating it? For the senses, etc., because visual consciousness can also see their individual functions, it is not contradictory for the aggregate to have a function. Those that are eliminated never produce consciousness that follows in that way without relying on the general. Therefore, those that are eliminated are only incapable of that, so they will not be fixated on. If it is said that for some of them, it is not just that function after relying on them. However, without a weaver and thread, cloth cannot be woven. Even if there is no single thread and thread, weaving can arise from that, but it is not just that. Similarly, for each of the eliminated ones, it is not just the general that is the cause when consciousness arises. So what is it? If you think that consciousness arises relying on one of those that are eliminated, if that is the case, those are beneficial to that one, how could it not be one consciousness? It is contradictory to combine different things into one thing, so all of this is fabricated. If those that are eliminated also benefit one general, then what fault have they committed against consciousness that they do not produce it? For it, what is the use of abandoning the middle and the remaining general? Just as these, although different, have the function of benefiting one general, consciousness can only produce one. Furthermore, this will become their result, whatever benefits is the producer. As before, if one clings to the nature of being useless, then there is nothing called beneficial, then it would be too extreme. If it produces some things, then what does it do to it? If it is its basis, then what is the basis and the object of dependence when there is no help? Or it would be too extreme. If it is beneficial, it is only related to it, because it is doing it, so it is beneficial to it.

What else is needed? If, relying on the support that depends on it, one combines with it, then what is the meaning of saying that one relies on what is not beneficial? The dharma that arises from it is called dependence because of its self-related nature. It is also of the nature of being without interruption, and saying that it depends on other things is unreasonable. Therefore, whatever is slightly related to something belongs to the category of what needs to be produced. If one produces other things, then it is of no benefit to it. Even if one does not do anything slightly, there is no benefit. Therefore, if the habit of imposing benefits through exclusion produces consciousness, then it is clear that this will become the fruit of this. If some things are able, then because the excluded things can never have an effect on anything, they should not be grasped. If the excluded things are able to produce an effect because they appear in consciousness, then how do those things that have not been proven to be able to confer benefits appear? If one universally acknowledges this, one should think about it. Like this, what is not beneficial is not an object, because it would be too extreme. What is not an object does not appear in consciousness. If what is not beneficial is not itself an object, then the past and so on are not objects, because non-existent things do not have the ability to confer benefits. Then, those consciousnesses would be completely without objects. Even if they are completely without objects, it is only because they arise from the habits left by such experiences that they follow it, and this is only becoming the nature of consciousness. Because it follows existence and non-existence, it is able, but not because of appearance, because apart from exclusion, the agent that does not universally appear exists, and although sounds and so on appear to be vanishing, there is no agent for them. If the wisdom that does not appear as different does not wish to exist on different things, then one would not say that many do not produce one result. Then what is it? For different things, the wisdom that has their respective forms will not appear as undifferentiated. For those who hold the general characteristics, their own characteristics do not appear, even if it does not exist, they exist, and in their own consciousness they appear as other forms, and one thing has many forms.
