Like the four great elements of earth, water, fire, and wind. Consciousness is a mixture of the nature of those (four great elements) and appears as having a common object, but it is not said that they are interconnected, like the four great elements. If it is said that it is an illusion of seeing it, then from where does the saying "seeing it" arise? If it is said that illusion cannot be without a seed, then those unique fruits are the seeds. Because it lacks correspondence with numbers, correspondence with the sequence of fruits, etc., and also does not exist in the four great elements, etc. Therefore, since there is no attachment to the common consciousness, the commonality is not other. Even if it is allowed to exist, it is not mixed with others because it abides in its own nature. Therefore, these things are considered to be of different kinds and different from others, because they have the same nature by their own essence. In order to understand the difference between what is separated from what, the words used in nomenclature take separation from this and that as the cause, and even if the nature is not different, do not fail to understand the many dharmas. Although those words do not abandon all differences, merely expressing one difference will become different only by its own characteristics, because it is unique and also different. Therefore, for one thing, how many other natures there are, one should look at how many negations there are accordingly, because things that do not have its cause and effect are different from it. In order to completely abandon things that are not the cause and effect of how many negations there are, words with nominal meanings should also be that many, for example, saying "sound is something that has just been produced and can be heard," this is like completely abandoning things that are not its cause and effect. Therefore, even if the nature is not different, what kind of difference can be understood by what name's dharma, since it cannot be understood by others, all words do not have the same meaning. Therefore, one aspect of the promised meaning is not a reason. Furthermore, how do you know that what is to be proven is not the very nature of things, but is understood by distinguishing through words and signs? Because other valid cognitions and other words intervene, for example, the very nature of things is unique.

. When the self is manifest, what is there to examine with valid cognitions? What other unseen parts are there? The single nature of a thing is manifest, because if the subject is not established, then establishing is impossible. For example, like sound when impermanence is to be established, all aspects are established by its mere manifestation, because there is nothing else that is not established. But if something else appears, then it is not its nature. Whatever is not the same as something in terms of establishment and comfort, it is not reasonable to be its nature, because the cause of different terms is exhausted in just that. If it is not like that, then it has already been said that it will become non-existent. Therefore, since the nature of the subject that is manifest is completely cut off, there will be no opportunity for other valid cognitions to enter into it. From seeing similar colored objects, like seeing nacre as silver. If, due to the reason of delusion, other qualities are not applied. If the thing itself is all visible, just like seeing nacre as silver, due to the delusion that has become an obstacle to such certainty, would other qualities not be applied? Nacre does not have both similarity and difference and nature, because it would be a fault of understanding it that way. If it is not specifically understood, then it is not reasonable to be constantly two, and it would be too extreme. Therefore, seeing the color of nacre, only the difference is seen, and because the conditions for certainty are not complete, it is not determined, so one presumes to have seen its generality. Therefore, it is mistaken for silver, and because other similar things arise in that way, it is not established as different, so it is mistaken for its nature and clung to. For this, how many other things there are, how much increase arises from one's own reasons, there are only that many, so the valid cognitions that can cut them off arise, and they arise with fruit. Those with the fruit of cutting off do not enter in order to understand the parts of things that have not been understood, because it is impossible to see one part of a partless thing, because that has already been seen.
