If it is said that even a potent fruit arises solely from one cause, how do other and different conditions create distinctions in the causal nature of things at each moment? And how do specific circumstances, such as a suitable location, produce fruit? From where do these arise? And how can their respective capacities not be produced by just one, since the differences in the agent do not exist separately? And the distinction produced by the two fruits arising together is a phenomenon arising from transmission, and others, such as sprouts, and the consciousness of the senses that arises without abiding, because the nature of the fruit and the cause are different. All of this has been explained. Among those that arise together, the first distinction of co-arising, which is the cause of the fruit that relies on continuous assistance, is not something that arises from a distinction pervaded by co-arising, such as a fruit with a sequel. Whatever distinctions come after that are those that arise from that, because those and those are of that nature. It is not without end. If, like the cause of the first distinction, a non-momentary thing does not produce a changed distinction, will it still produce a fruit? It depends on production. If this nature is a phenomenon that produces without abiding, then it is possible for each to exist separately, and even one alone will be like that, as has been explained. If it is not that nature, then at that time it is not producing either. Therefore, from non-momentary causes, doing the same thing, there is no certainty that anything arises together. Since it is not continuous assistance, there is no co-arising of it, therefore even one alone will produce it. The continuity of things exists in a collection, and mostly it is seen that one's own fruit is produced by producing the difference of co-acting conditions, like seeds and so on. According to the view of those who assert a permanent cause, if it depends on conditions, then another nature that produces will arise, which is clear, depending on the fruit.

If the nature of what produces already existed before, then it is impossible not to produce. Therefore, whatever the self-nature of something is, it becomes such merely by existing. Having become such, it does not depend on others to manifest in order to become the entity of that thing. For things whose nature is not inherently stable, there is no need for any causes of destruction. For things whose nature is stable, no one can change their nature, so what is the use of causes of destruction? However, if it transforms into something else, then it will not be merely its own nature, and the previous examination is exhausted, and that has already been discussed. Whatever transforms into something other than the other is the nature of the other. How can what is other be its own? Because different things are characterized by different natures. In that case, the previous thing abides in the unchanging dharma, so it does not transform into something else. This negates the transformation of hard things like copper into other natures like softness due to fire and so on. Because, for those things, the previous thing itself is inherently destructible, and once destroyed, a completely different nature like softness arises from fire and so on and the proximate cause. That is the only thing that abides in its own dharma, because if there is no cause of destruction, it will abide. If it is said that being destroyed by others is called destruction, and there is no other nature, and only the transformation of things is destruction, then this answer does not go beyond two distinctions. One should examine whether things are inherently permanent or impermanent. If it is said that it was permanent before and later becomes impermanent, then this means that all things previously considered permanent are two things with different natures of permanent and impermanent, and things that are self-destructive and non-destructive. In that case, the cause of destruction has no effect on the previous thing. It is not possible that it was permanent before and later becomes impermanent. So what is it? Later it is still permanent, because the nature is the same. Then, if the thing is not related to the destruction of its nature, then what is the so-called destruction like? Its nature
