If someone says, like saying "some of the made nature, etc., have not been shown," then, this is neither to be proclaimed nor concealed, having fallen into an unbearable situation, how can it be transcended? This reason has turned things into their own nature to be established by themselves, and also correctly combines those who have measure with the eminent and the decisive goodness. Moreover, you have made people lose the ability to establish by showing other reasons, and have also made those things and those people decline from their things and perfections, just like a king losing his throne, entering the forest of asceticism, what is there to say here? The establishment itself is also done by the courage of people, so what is there that is not truly spoken or established? If the self-nature of the reason is that the dharma possesses it, then how can it become other? Because there is neither change of the self-nature of things nor contradiction of self-nature. If that dharma is not possessed, then how can it be established by others? Therefore, if the self-nature does not have what it wants to establish itself, then it is because there is no opposing reason for that characteristic of the fruit and self-nature, etc., which explains the characteristic of non-arising. Wanting to say a single number is not a characteristic, because there is nothing to distinguish. If knowledge itself is not the dharma of the sign, then how can it become the characteristic of the sign? What kind of self-nature of the sign should one think about in order to understand the meaning? It should be understood from the self-nature that does not deceive understanding, that is, after seeing what, one distinguishes between what is established and what is not established by it, and trusts to place the desired meaning there, and then one will enter. Then, what is the self-nature of this one here, that is the characteristic, not the other self-nature. If merely approaching the arising of understanding is its characteristic, then that would be too extreme. In that case, the measurable and the person, etc., would also become its characteristic, because that

If it does not exist, then knowledge will not arise for the subject. If so, then certainty should not be mentioned. It is not that it should not be mentioned, because it is for the sake of others. Those who think that inference knowledge is produced by visible and invisible things, it is only that inference will not work, because even though visible and invisible things exist, it is seen that it is not able to produce knowledge. Therefore, in order to know that knowledge is produced by existent and non-existent things, certainty is mentioned. Therefore, the nature of the other is not a characteristic, because it cannot show the difference in the nature of the sign. These existent and non-existent things should be understood by engaging in establishing their nature, because there is no other way. Therefore, merely mentioning existence and non-existence can also draw out the valid cognition that establishes it, but in order to clarify these two, the word called "certainty" is connected to the characteristic. If it is not like that, then establishing the knowable as existent is because it is the cause and condition for the existence of knowledge. Since these two themselves cannot be well established as existent, establishing existence itself on all things is to lead a valid cognition that has the function of establishing. Making treatises is also for the sake of others, because the sign with three aspects is to indicate meaning. For those who do not understand these aspects, because it does not apply, it is to make others understand, so knowledge is established. However, some people only establish existence and non-existence through visible and invisible things, so to refute this, the word "certainty" is mentioned. Even if existence and non-existence exist, because there is doubt about the existence of concomitance and opposition. In order to know that being well established as existence depends on which valid cognition determines these two, I have said it. Because merely mentioning existence and non-existence can draw out the valid cognition that establishes it, therefore knowledge is not transformed into a different characteristic, but to understand its own meaning. Just like the meaning of approaching from the property of the subject. If so, then concomitance and opposition are not independent either, because combined together

If it is said that it is for understanding both, that is not the case. In the conforming side and the non-conforming side, having reasons and not having reasons, they are mutually dependent, and one word is used to understand both, it should be said like that. It is not the same meaning as the second. Isn't the word that calls "non-existence" to the "existence" and "non-existence" only there mutually exclusive? If it is said, even if one word showing certainty, if there is no second exclusion, because of the reason of non-existence, this word excludes both in an implied way. It is not merely excluding existence and non-existence. Those with certainty are not merely, because certainty is the nature of both. Therefore, what excludes the second of existence or non-existence, that which is called "existence" is not merely existence, and the other is not merely non-existence. Knowing is like that, the characteristic of making others know, is not different from the third characteristic, so it is not another characteristic. Therefore, reason is not the sixth characteristic. The Drops of Reasoning (Nyāyabindu) composed by the teacher Dharmakīrti is completed. Translated, edited, and finalized by the Indian Abbot Prajñāvarman and the Lotsawa Bhikshu Paltsheg Rakshita of Zhuchen. Treatise called Drops of Reasoning (Nyāyabindu). Dharmakīrti Shri.
