Only when the property to be proven exists, does the reason exist. If the subject of the argument also possesses a reason with such characteristics, then there would be no property to be proven here. Direct perception and inference, which enter to harm the property to be proven, those would remove it from the subject of the argument. Only because it exists does the reason exist, this would enter the subject of the argument. Alas, things have become very bad! If for others, the reason does not have the property to be proven, then it will not arise, but it is not only for the subject of the argument. Why then does this affliction ride on a eunuch and seek pleasure? If it is shown that for the subject of the argument, even without the property to be proven, it exists, then how should one say that this subject of the argument possesses the property to be proven? If for that very reason, the absence of harm is mentioned, thinking: for what reason, only elsewhere does the reason also exist, only for that very reason, it is called the subject of the argument possessing the property that has not been harmed by valid cognition. If one thinks like this, only because those are without harm, the property to be proven is established, then what power does the reason have? If because there is no property to be proven, it is certain that the valid cognition that harms will enter, then if there is no harm, the property to be proven is established, so the reason is meaningless. Because even if there is harm, it cannot be established. If it is uncertain, then there will also be no valid cognition that harms, and it is also possible that there is no property to be proven, so without harm, there is no power. Absence of harm is absence of harm. What then is it? It is the non-perception of harm, that is also in some cases, even if harm may exist, it will exist in a person, so that is the object of applying the reason. The reason also fears seeing harm, does it not fear harm? Then with what measure is harm measured, and wanting to apply it to where it is not seen? That reason, in reality, whether there is harm or not, is fine, without relying on it, should it be applied to where harm is not seen? Why apply it? To establish the property to be proven. Then, in some cases, even if there is harm, does it establish the property to be proven? Then with what is it determined that this does not exist?

Nor do they strive, nor do they apply reasoning. Even so, the object that has been harmed itself is not the nature of reasoning, because even though harm exists, it can still function. Even so, if one does not promise to the doubter, it is not permissible to enter. Just as there is a possibility of harm to the invisible, but after promising, just as one applies, one will also apply to invisible harm. If one promises, there is no difference. If one says that if harm exists, it cannot function, if that is the case, even if one applies it, it will not function, so it is not appropriate to apply it without establishing that harm does not exist. If one thinks that invisible harm can function, does visibility pervade harm? Because if it is like this, the reasoning will not lose its function because of the existence of harm, and if it disappears, the harm will also disappear. Even so, just because invisible harm can accomplish what is to be proven, the reasoning is meaningless, because if it is invisible, there is no harm. If visibility disappears but the harm does not disappear, then the reasoning is not an application because it harbors the seed of impotence. Therefore, for a subject, other than the existence and non-existence of what one wants to prove, it neither proves nor destroys anything, so merely stating it is not a capacity. Therefore, harm and what does not arise without absence are not coexistent, therefore, the nature of absence of harm is not other. If it should be said that it is a different characteristic or the same nature from it, then what will become other while existing? For example, it is like saying that it exists in a property that is consistent with the property of the subject. Even though there exists what does not arise without absence, there is a possibility of harm, because in the object of what is to be proven by absence, and the opposite of what does not arise without absence contradicting the reasoning, there is no harm. Its absence should be stated separately as the nature of these two. Therefore, in the application of reasoning, the faults of commitment do not exist. Because there is no application of mere commitment, the faults of commitment should not be stated. This excludes those who want to state a single number.

Because the only kind is that it exists only because of what it has to prove itself, so there is no error there. Only because something different from it harms it, so something contrary to it is also equivalent to harm here. Furthermore, is it actually the case that the opposite of the argument is impossible, is that correct knowledge or the cause of refutation? Or, is it an opposite of the argument that is not clearly shown? What will it become? If it is said that it is an opposite of the argument that is not clearly shown, then, because it cannot be determined, this is not a definition. But it is also not without an argument, because the uncertain attribute is not its definition, just like the questionable aspect. The questionable attribute is not an argument, so nothing will become an argument, if one sees the possibility of opposites existing in the same attribute, then one will also be suspicious of not seeing the opposite, because there is no difference. If there is a difference, then that is the definition of the argument, because it determines what it has to prove itself by excluding one opposite, so what is not its definition will not become an argument. If that is the case, then the idea of wanting to express a number is meaningless. Therefore, the definition of being contrary without error will collapse, because the arguments that have their own definition are contrary to each other on the same thing, and are called contrary without error. If one understands whether the opposite exists or does not exist, then the particularity that needs to be observed will also not show its essence, therefore, it is only without difference, so everything will become doubt. Even the argument that sees the opposite argument, at first, one will not notice any other and subtle differences. For all possible opposite arguments, it is also not the case that one cannot notice them in all cases. If one examines with excellent wisdom, one can see, therefore, because existence and non-existence are uncertain, so the definition is also uncertain, and nothing will become an argument. Or, it is an opposite argument that is not clearly shown, as it is said, then, when someone admits that sound is permanent, this will become the only argument. If for this, there is an argument of impermanence
