Although it is known that the essence is the same, their self-natures are only different. Therefore, only some are the cause of some. Among them, the aggregates of form and sense faculties, etc., whatever has uninterrupted places, etc., is the cause that can generate consciousness. Those differences in dependent origination, such as approaching each other, are the cause that can generate its cause. Those are also not present before, not present after, and not present individually, so the ability is not tainted by the faults arising from being present individually before and after. Among those, the cause of these approaching each other, etc., is the cause of ability, therefore, it never changes. In this way, one should understand the principle that the essence of cause and effect is determined separately in all things. The ability of things, for each moment, follows other different self-natures, but not for things that only show one thing's self-nature. Because self-nature does not change, it is not permissible to do or not do for the self-natures of being able and not being able. If it is said that some are co-acting and some are not, then can a result be produced by just one? No. Why can't it be produced? If it cannot be produced, how can it? If it is said that looms, etc., can make cloths, etc., but not in all cases, then loving and reasonable fools will generate joy, because the intermediate production has been completed, and they are made to do it again and again. Like this, it has been considered for placing seeds, etc. Therefore, because self-nature does not change. Its dharma-possessing self-nature, like the final state, is irreversible. In the final state, if ability arises from previously non-existent ability, if it is the self-nature of that ability, then it is only the arising of what was previously non-existent. If it is not its self-nature, then it is not the agent, because the result arises from the thing called ability. Furthermore, for the time being, that itself is fully equipped with all co-actors, how does the result arise? It is clearly seen that it arises.

I say, it produces on the ground. Even the non-self-nature of the seen object with great power, just by its own nature, is able to act on various things, that is great power. If a few out of a hundred are like this beyond your path of seeing, alas, they are of the nature of non-arising, because they will become causeless, this thought stings the heart. I do not say that what I see produces fruit from non-self-nature. Then what is it? Their self-nature is the dharma that produces it, and if they are seen, it is only known that these are the producers. If this is also truly existent, then since they are the self-nature of the dharma of producing fruit, all those endowed with conditions do not remain neutral without producing. Does the self-nature of the dharma of their non-abiding and producing arise only at the time of the final stage? Or, it existed before, because it contradicts having no self-nature for those who do not decay, do not arise, and have a firm, single self-nature. Then, is it both mother and daughter? What is the meaning of saying that it is both the self-nature of the dharma of non-abiding and producing, and also not producing? If its self-nature is common, but not unique, then the unique is another, and the common is also another, because the characteristic of different things is that the self-nature is different. Even if it is common, it is not the agent with another's self-nature, and if this own self-nature was the same before, then how does it sometimes produce and separate? For those things that are momentary, why does the unique not produce? If it produces, then it is the only one that produces. If it does not produce, then it is non-momentary. How it produces has already been said, how does that which is momentary and arising change into another? Whatever changes is not itself, therefore this fault does not change here, because the self-nature and causes of the agent and non-agent contradict each other. Whatever its self-nature is, it is only the dharma of non-abiding and arising, so it
