When it is shown that 'the pot is not perceived,' it implicitly means 'there is no pot here.' Similarly, in a combination with inconsistent properties, if there is any object of designation that exists, and it becomes an object of focused cognition, then it becomes only the object of focus. When it is shown that 'such a pot is not perceived here,' it implicitly means 'there is no object of designation here.' What kind of aspect should be shown? It should be shown that the aspect to be shown is: one's own essence, self, intention, and non-negation. The so-called 'one's own essence' means only wanting to be proven. The so-called 'only one's own essence' means only wanting to be proven, but not the proof itself. For example, when proving that sound is impermanent, the reason 'perceived by the eye' is to be proven because it is not established on sound. Therefore, here, merely stating the proof does not mean only wanting to be proven. The so-called 'self' refers to what the debater states as proof at that time. Therefore, even if the proof is stated based on some treatises, even if the author of the treatise has already admitted that the subject has many qualities, what the debater wants to prove at that time is what should be proven, not something else. The so-called 'intention' refers to what the disputant intends to prove by presenting the proof in the argument. Even if it is not stated in words, it is to be proven, because it is the basis of the dispute. For example, 'Because it is a composite, the eyes, etc., are for the sake of others, like the limbs of bedding and cushions, etc.' Here, even if 'for oneself' is not stated, it is to be proven as 'for oneself,' so merely what is said is not what is to be proven. The so-called 'non-negated' means that even if those characteristics are already possessed, whatever meaning is intended to be proven, if it has been negated by direct perception, inference, fame, and one's own words, then it is not an aspect. Therefore, this is why it is shown. Among them, what is negated by direct perception is, for example:

For example, like saying "the sound of a crow is unpleasant to hear." Eliminating through inference is like saying "a vase is permanent." Eliminating through fame is like saying "the one with a rabbit is not the moon." Eliminating through one's own words is like saying "inference is not a valid cognition," which eliminates the four seemingly valid positions. Thus, even if something is established or not established, it is still considered a proposition, and at that time, the opponent himself does not consider it a proposition. Merely stating something and the opposite of eliminating it is what is to be established. Its own nature, the opponent's intention, and not eliminating it are the subject, thus the characteristic of the subject is shown without fault. Inference for the sake of others is stating the reason with three aspects, and from saying that, even if one of the three aspects is not stated, it still appears to be a proposition. Even if it is stated, if it is not established or there is doubt about what is to be known and what is to be known, it is still the case. If one aspect of the way of relating to the subject is not established or there is doubt, it is a seemingly unestablished reason, for example, when establishing "sound is impermanent," the fact that it is apprehended by the eye is not established for either party. When establishing that trees have minds, the fact that they die after all the bark is peeled off is not established for the opponent, because they accept that death is characterized by the cessation of consciousness, faculties, and life. That is impossible for trees. When establishing that pleasure and so on do not have minds, being born or being impermanent is not established for the Samkhya opponent himself. Similarly, if there is doubt about the self and its basis, it is also not established, for example, when fire is to be established, like a collection of elements in which there is doubt about things like steam, and like saying "there is a peacock in this valley because the sound of a peacock is heard," but not understanding the place where that sound comes from. If the subject is not established, it is also not established, for example, when establishing that the self exists in all places, like the quality of observing in all places. Similarly, if one aspect of the way of not existing in dissimilar instances is not established, it is also an uncertain reason, for example, sound is permanen
