Therefore, it will become a state of not understanding non-things. Without experience, one cannot establish oneself, because there is no difference from it, so it will also overextend to the object. Experience is the only way to establish the difference of oneself, but without experience, it is not like that. If it is said that the reason for the fault arising from this is that the non-thing is established without the knowledge of having its own object, and it is not because there is knowledge different from oneself. Then what is it? The so-called "no bottle target" which aims at non-things, is produced from there, and that is also the Svatantrika pramana. If that is the case, then from where does the understanding of non-things arise? Because non-things are not the cause of anything at all. Because there is no ability. Because ability is the characteristic of things, and it has not disappeared, so it arises from it, it will become forever happening. Because there is no dependence. Because dependence is the characteristic of obtaining difference, and that is also the characteristic of things, so it will not become non-things. The so-called non-thing is also the negation of things. Therefore, saying that it arises from non-things becomes the negation of the cause of arising from things. If it is not like that, then the so-called non-thing is to call some thing itself by another name. Therefore, that understanding does not exist. The immediately following what is seen will also not become Svatantrika. If it arises from its power, then it itself will disappear into it, so it itself will become pramana. Because the power of its definite aspect excludes others, if it is mixed with other aspects, it does not exist. Therefore, the non-manifesting discrimination that arises from the power of other pramanas and does not rely on the senses and signs is not pramana. Whatever immediately follows to establish and refute discrimination, that which arises in that way is seeing. For example, seeing blue, one will say, "This is blue, not yellow." Therefore, those are not pramana. Because it is impossible to determine non-manifestation, for example, placing others will be blocked. For other sentient beings.

Without characteristics, discriminations, etc., do not arise. Those with uncertain results cannot establish reversal. To establish certainty, the first is made dominant in reasoning. These are the intermediate verses. In one's own statements, either the self-nature is stated, or the nature that harms the meaning, because if it exists, it exists, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. When the non-observation that establishes the reversal of something with a definitely non-existent result is thoroughly stated to establish the non-existence of that thing itself, it is stated with its own nature. For example, "There is no smoke here because it is not observed." "There is no *shapa* tree here because there is no tree." "There is no smoke here because there is no fire," and so on. Or, it is thoroughly stated by means of placing near the nature that harms the meaning to be negated. For example, "There is no cold touch here because there is fire," and so on, as in the examples given in order. How is that contradiction understood? In some cases, it arises without the cause being complete, and apart from that, it is understood as contradictory because if one exists, the other does not. For example, like the touch of cold and heat. Because they are established as mutually distinct, like permanence and destruction. Or, it is contradictory by the nature of dwelling by mutually abandoning each other, like permanence and impermanence. It is also because it is harmed by valid cognition, like dependent and definite entities. Or, if valid cognition harms that itself, then it will contradict its sign, like dependent and definite things. Valid cognition also does not necessarily determine destruction for those who assert its cause and have promised to have birth, because they have promised that the change in its nature depends on others. Whatever has promised that the change in its nature depends on others is not necessarily a definite change in its nature, like dyeing clothes. If its causes are also definite there, is there no fault? No, because it is not certain that they are complete and without obstacles. If it exists, then it is not the case that other things that manifestly tend to it, which depend on its own collection of causes, will also exist, because it does not depend on them. If it is not its dharma, but still, in that itself, one wants it to be momentary.
