Now it is so. If these two reasons are condensed into one, then doubt will arise for all kinds of distinctions. If the opposite is certain, then what can prevent it from being the reason that distinguishes characteristics? This has already been said. If even for a certain reason, it becomes doubt because of lack of confidence, then that itself is not absolutely certain. Therefore, if it is said that the certainty of its essence is from the certainty of the quality to be proven, then uncertainty is uncertainty itself. In inferring the meaning of others, it is not enough to merely point out the fault in the proof that relies on the nature of things, but it is also the fault of the speaker, just like incompleteness, absence of concomitance, and reversed concomitance. Since it expresses the quality that must be clearly expressed as another quality, that itself is a fault. If doubt arises about the property of the subject, and it is not established for either side, then will it also become a refutation? It is indeed so, because what is desired is not established. Is there not a case of reversed establishment? Refutation is not done through reversed establishment. Then what is it? Because it destroys the power of proof. Like this, there is no case of reversed establishment for measurability and so on, and what reversed establishment is there for what is seen by the eye? If it is said that it must be shown to be established for both, and not established for both is reversed, then here too, the uncertainty of what must be clearly proven is reversed. Therefore, only certainty that contradicts the reason will lead to proof and refutation. The nine properties of the subject that were shown are: because it is measurable, it is permanent; because it is made, it is impermanent; because it is impermanent, it is born from effort; because it is made, it is permanent; a living body has a self, because it possesses life and so on; because it is born from effort, it is permanent; because it is impermanent, it is not born from effort; it is impermanent because it is born from effort; it is permanent because it is not sentient and so on. In distinction, how can it exist or not exist depending on the dissimilar side? Because non-existence is not the basis.

If so, how to prevent what does not exist here? The dissimilar aspect is the characteristic of not being it, which has already been said. If this is a dissimilar aspect, then it would become without reason, because everything possesses other dharmas. If you say so, it will not become without reason, just like calling it a non-Brahmin. Because it possesses its kind, it itself is a Brahmin, and also because it is related to other dharmas, it itself is also a non-Brahmin, which is not understood in the world. Then what is it? It is an object that does not rely on the dharma that is intended to be expressed. Even if the object of negation is different, the combination enters separately. The nature of the similar aspect because of contradiction, it is also not understood in that way. Regarding this, which is called the similarity of the generality of the dharma to be established, if it is said that it is only the generality of the dharma to be established, then there will be no similar aspect at all, because such a form is impossible. Therefore, things like pots that have not abandoned other dharmas and are related to the generality of the dharma to be established are made into similar aspects. Therefore, what is called the dissimilar aspect does not mean that all those who possess other dharmas are understood. Then what is it? Because it is empty of that dharma, there is no fault even if other things are taken. Again, why are the dharmas of the categories divided into nine in that way? For the sake of nature, result, and establishment, the reasons are two and two in reverse, for the sake of debate, there are differences and generalities, and the remainder is the eliminative proof. Only nature and result are understood because they are inherently related, and if reversed, they will become reversed, in order to show this. Impermanent, because it is made, and because it has just been created, these two reasons, and permanent, because it is made, and because it has just been created, show two contradictions. Other than nature, it is impossible to exist in all similar aspects, because the cause is confusion about the result. Therefore, the result enters into the similar aspect in two ways. Just because it is impermanent, not everything is a result, the consciousness with just created arising is not fabricated, therefore, that is
