For other things, its characteristics are only so much. Beyond that, certainty is unreasonable. Ability is also not another thing, so it itself is determined by its own nature. If it is indeed another thing, then because knowledge of things arises from it, sound will no longer be the expresser, because its association will also not be established. Therefore, in any case, the self-nature that is determined in something, all of these arise from the nature of their own cause, so it clearly shows the function of generating the determiner. If there is not, because it does not appear, understanding things from sound is not like that, but like a lamp, it is only possible. Therefore, because there is no association, it will not be understood. If you say that there is no this fault, that is not right, because for form, unlike a lamp, it is not understood by its own nature. Sound and signs, etc., depend on their existence or non-existence, seeing or not seeing, memory, to understand their own objects. Because not seeing and forgetting there is no understanding, and for doubt and many things, seeing will become doubt, and for one thing, seeing there is not, and if seeing it will change. If seeing on other characteristics, even if combined in other ways it will be wrong, and if seeing becomes other, it will completely cling to other things, so understand as seeing. For example, for sounds called "Kali" and "Mari" etc., the names of nomads and people in the central region, and the differences in time, rain and killing, etc., are understood in the same way. Therefore, when these depend on seeing or not seeing, like a sign, its nature of being able to establish without confusion is dependent on understanding. If there is no indication, it will not be understood, and if it is indicated, sounds have no restrictions on things. Therefore, in this way, various existences are eliminated through the autonomy of human will. The detailed content of this argument, I have refuted in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, so I will not elaborate here. Or the self-nature has attachment etc., or understands knowledge of things from other things.
