All four refutations, however many there are, come from non-apprehension. Thus, it acts in two ways: by establishing or negating something. If establishing, then is it establishing something contradictory or non-contradictory? Non-contradictory things, because there is no contradiction in existing simultaneously, are not negations. Even contradictory things, without non-apprehension, cannot understand contradiction, for example, for the arising of unobstructed causes, if others exist, then because of non-existence, it is understood as contradictory, and this also comes from non-apprehension. The nature of existing by mutually abandoning is also contradictory, like permanence and impermanence. For this, it is also said that seeing one means not seeing the other, and if it is not so, without the unnegated seen, it cannot be established. By negating one, establishing the non-existence of the other, this itself establishes non-apprehension, because negation is the nature of non-apprehension. For the thing to be established as negating other meanings, if it is negating cause and effect, or neither, as a reason, then, for this, neither is not related, because that does not exist, through non-existence, it is not reasonable for the other not to exist. Even if the effect is not seen, the cause must have it, how can it not exist? Ability is the cause, inability is not the cause. From ability, obstacles also do not exist, because there is no complete change in the final stage, because the moment has no parts. Producing something inconsistent with the production of the effect is the nature of the obstacle. If it is not so, not doing anything slightly is not an obstacle. Such a cause must be understood as non-existent from the absence of the effect, for example, here there is no cause of smoke, unobstructed abilities, etc., because there is no smoke. That effect, because there is no pervasion and non-pervasion from the cause, there is no difference from its own nature and difference, so its non-apprehension is called nature non-apprehension. Similarly, seeing something contradictory to it, for example, here there is no cause of cold, unobstructed abilities, etc., because there is fire. It is not said that the non-apprehension of the effect is understood by thinking about the totality of the cause, for example, here there is no fire.

For example, it is like saying, "Because there is no smoke." Not seeing the cause means understanding that there is no object; not seeing the nature means only that there is no self. For that, it is only to establish the subject. Its essence, because the pervasive result does not exist, is also non-existent. When, because the pervasive dharma is not seen, it is said that the pervasive thing does not exist, at that time also the thing is non-existent. Therefore, in this way, by way of establishing and refuting, to prevent some things, all that can be understood is the nature of not seeing. There is no other reason for refutation. The non-seeing of the subject of refutation becomes four kinds of different aspects of combination: establishing contradiction, for example, it is like saying, "There is no cold touch here, because there is fire." Through this, it should also be understood that the pervasive establishing contradiction is also explained, for example, it is like saying, "There is no hail touch here, because there is fire." The result of establishing contradiction, for example, it is like saying, "There is no cold touch here, because there is smoke." The cause is not established, for example, it is like saying, "There is no smoke here, because there is no fire." The nature is not established, for example, it is like saying, "There is no smoke here, because it is not seen from the visible object." Through this, it is also explained that the pervasive nature is not established, for example, it is like saying, "There is no forest here, because there are no trees." For all these non-seeing of establishing non-existence and terms, it should be understood that only the nature of being observable, those and their opposites, are not established and established because of other near causes of seeing. For others, the existence, non-existence, and contradiction of cause and effect are not established. The invisible appearance and, for the non-seeing of things, when the cause cannot exist, it will be understood that the thing does not exist. This is called the concluding verse. If the non-existence is also established through seeing the contradictory result, then why is it not established through seeing its cause? No, it is because it is confused. For example, it is like saying, "There is no cold touch here, because there are trees."
