Mind is not a valid means of knowledge. If it grasps what is unseen, it is like a blind person. Through other means, meaning can be seen. Therefore, because it is momentary, past meanings cannot be seen. If it is not momentary, then its nature becomes something that can be described with distinctions. For actions that have been accomplished, there is no slight difference. How do you want to accomplish something with faculties or other things? The mind that arises from that object will arise all at once. If it is not differentiated by others, then relying on it is contradictory. Therefore, the consciousness of the senses arises from that immediately preceding condition. The mind grasps other objects, so the blind cannot see. The sense-born mind, which depends on the meaning that follows its own purpose, is the cause. Therefore, even if it grasps something else, it wants to grasp certainty. Those things that do not coincide with the time of action, the things that have their own time of knowing, how can they act together with the consciousness of the senses? Because what does not exist has no power before, and does not approach closely afterwards, all causes exist before. Therefore, it is not an object with its own mind. How does it grasp when the times are different? If it is said that the knowledge of awareness can establish the aspect of knowledge, then it is known that the cause itself is grasped. Even if there are many causes, whatever effect follows and arises, that is its nature, which is called establishing and grasping. Happiness and so on, which are self-natured, do not rely on others and cannot serve as indicators. Therefore, those self-knowings are not related to speech and subsequent events. Furthermore, how do those that are not enlightening know their own nature? Some say that relying on one meaning is what is to be known by consciousness. Having the nature of that and not that, generated by the real cause of that and not that. Consciousness is not born from a cause other than itself, why does it not know happiness and so on? If the sense organs with meaning are feasible and there is a mind that is as it is in its own nature, then the arising of happiness and so on is seen, and the mind is the same as that. When those are absent and present, for some, happiness and so on, and the mind, arising and not arising are seen, therefore, that arises from that, not from another. From the differences of those themselves, happiness, suffering, and so on are different, just as the mind itself is like clarity and non-clarity and doubt.

Because of what is close, wisdom and happiness etc. arise, abandoning that, how can happiness etc. be realized? If grasped gradually, it is not experienced, and it does not appear without interruption. If it is said to be because of speed, then because it is the same, why is there no experience? One cannot know two, because the sense consciousness is definite. Although there is no happiness etc., it arises from meaning, so that power is not established. Two also each separately, if there is power, like blue etc., then only happiness etc. will be grasped, without grasping the meaning of that cause, it is not reasonable to experience it. If holding together with meaning, then what is the power of happiness etc.? Why is the wisdom generated by it not desired? If without meaning, happiness etc. are experienced by the eyes etc., then the distinctions of form etc., women etc., will never be grasped by the eyes. The meaning of the power of the inner limbs, if there is, then the external will not be seen. If meaning is grasped, then what is born from it, happiness etc. will not be experienced. From that object and that existence, if wisdom arises instantaneously, then when the instantaneous meaning exists, then happiness and suffering etc. will be known. If there is also internal grasping consciousness, then suffering etc. will arise. If it is said that that one is not the immediately preceding cause of contradiction, then by what is the consciousness that knows, the immediately preceding cause of not knowing? If it becomes the self, then it is also seen in those contradictions. For example, one appearance is the cause of names, and the senses other than it, like simultaneously doing seeing form and disagreement, agreement. Therefore, happiness etc. to oneself, the meaning of transference is appearance, and because of experiencing it, the world establishes. External meaning is not real, these self-nature knowers, are only born from meaning. The self-nature of those meanings, is experienced by one's own self. Therefore it is said to experience meaning, because the object of focus appears there. Some say that happiness etc. are in the external, abiding and without mind, and are to be grasped, but that also, instantaneous two grasping is not reasonable. If it is said that the nature of blue etc. and happiness etc., are grasped instantaneously because of one, ༈ . How is that which is grasped by the mind, which has different appearances, not different?
