It is not like a vase and so on, because what is made arises from what is not sound. Even so, there is no close connection. The close connection of dissimilar dharmas is like saying, "Like space, what is unmade is not." If, from two negations, it is said that only "what is made" is negated, then that reason becomes meaningless. If it is said that it is not negating "what is made," but is for the purpose of negating the permanent dharma that exists with it, then that is also not the case. Why? Because it does not possess the opposite side. Because this is a general expression of "what is made" without stating the reason itself, since the word "and" is spoken, there is only the existence of "what is made" itself, so there is no opportunity for the opposite side. If that is the case, in order to negate it, the dharma is dissimilar and will be closely connected, but in order to negate the permanent dharma itself that exists with what is unmade, it will not be said to be closely connected. Therefore, it possesses the opposite side. Through similar dharmas, it is impossible to realize impermanence only through "what is made" itself. Who can negate its opposite side, which possesses the existence of permanent dharma? If, again, because it is unestablished, permanent dharma is negated only through the dissimilar dharma of permanent dharma, then, even so, it will become so through the door of difference. If similar dharmas are not stated, but through the door of difference, that is, it negates that dharma existing together with its opposite side, for example, like "because it is audible, sound is impermanent." Because the impermanence of vases and so on exists together with what is not audible, it negates impermanence itself. The undesired permanent dharma will be established. Because the establishment of impermanence itself is the same, here too it will become permanent dharma, like "because it arises from effort, like lightning and so on." Through similar dharmas, there is no reason for this at all, because like space, what is unmade is not, therefore it itself is not permanent dharma. What is unmade itself is not the reason for permanent dharma, because without it, it will not become permanent dharma. The reason for impermanence itself, because there is no disembodiedness and so on, it is also not negating impermanence itself. Space

It is reasonable to make an analogy based on the meaning of words, because there is not even a little of the permanent dharma that has been transformed from non-fabrication, just like space. For impermanent dharmas, it is also said to be like a pot. Therefore, it is not reasonable to make an analogy based solely on the word "impermanent." At the end, the previous words are no longer repeated, so it should not be explained that it is not a limb. Some particularists say that both are completely established as metaphors. In this regard, it is also said: The statement taking space as an example, or just one aspect of speech. The so-called "both are completely established," if the proposition and reason are established in space, because that is its merit, then everything will be exemplified by space. If it is said that the dharma to be established is established in what place, then that is it itself, then, even so, the true part is not reasonable, not stating the concomitance, that is the image of the metaphor. Where the reason and the concomitance to be established are not shown, that is similar to the metaphor. Both metaphors should be attached as before. The meaning of the establisher's analogy is: even if it is self-continuum, it will become meaningless. If the metaphor is its own system, then it is said that it is not one aspect of the meaning of the reason. Therefore, the meaning of the analogy that cannot be established is also not, as mentioned before. From the Compendium of Valid Cognition, the fourth chapter on the examination of metaphors and similar metaphors. For the two kinds of valid cognition, some people think that what arises from sound is also valid cognition. To this: What arises from sound is inference, not another valid cognition, just like for its own meaning, such as birds, it is shown through the way of excluding others. The sound is closely related to the relationship that it will not arise where it does not exist, and from that aspect, just like its fabrication, etc., it is shown by distinguishing other meanings. Therefore, it is not different from inference. Some people think that all kinds of sounds come from their respective differences, and for the speakers, they insist that it is the sound of the difference of the definite meaning. In response to this, it is said: There is no sound of kinds for the difference, saying
