Regarding the sound of the very nature of being audible and the nature of being made, is this permanent or impermanent? Like that, it becomes a reason for doubt. If it is said that because it is shown as a single word, it should be understood as one, that is not correct, because it is not desired that contradictory things be stated on one thing. The nature of being made and the nature of arising immediately after being created, these two become a reason on one thing, for example, like knowing it is a high mountain from the gathering of the aspect of being raised and the falling of a bird on one thing. That is contradictory to what is to be established. Contradiction. That itself enters in two ways as the status of both, that is separated, and enters into another for the sake of establishing the meaning, therefore it is establishing contradiction, for example, like establishing from those very reasons that it is permanent. Regarding this, also from the very gate of negating permanence, it establishes contradiction. If it is said, how does it become contradictory that here, because there is fire, there is a cold touch? How does it not become so? Because merely negating the cold touch does not establish warmth. If even if warmth cannot be established, it is indeed established that it is not a cold touch. If that is the case, with the distinction of the subsequent consciousness, by the very nature of that complete destruction, saying that the warm touch is established, because the non-cold touch is established by the power of meaning, there is no contradiction in saying it is contradictory. If the nature of being made is no different from both being born from effort and not being born from effort, and because it intervenes without returning from all non-difference, therefore impermanence does not depend on negating permanence with subsequent consciousness, if something intervenes in something, then it can do so with the distinction of subsequent consciousness, in that way of complete destruction, then it will be like that. Where does it intervene? One is ignorant of the distinction of that. For example, the nature of being made intervenes in both being born from effort and not being born from effort, therefore for both, the sound is a reason for doubt, if it is established that because it is made, it is born from effort, or it can also be established that because it is made, it is not born from effort. Similarly, the very nature of being born from effort is virtue or non-virtue.

It can also be established. If that is the case, then because it is made, it is impermanent. Saying "no self" also becomes a reason for doubt, because both have it. If it is said that the made exists in the no-self that is separate from impermanence, then it will become like that. In that case, merely contradicting each other will become the difference here. Therefore, the made itself of sound is not impermanence and no-self, etc. Here, also, understand from the standpoint of one situation, and it is also a universally certain reason in intellect. If one enters into mutual contradiction, then it is a reason for doubt. Other than impermanence itself, which prevents the cessation of permanence, there is no other existence. Those that cause knowledge to enter the object to be proven through the path of deviating from all similar aspects are kinds. Here, it is not fixedly present in all similar aspects, and it is also impossible to cling to being present in everything. The reason also abandons its connection with itself, and it also does not have the ability to generate knowledge of the subject in other places. Here, too, it should be understood from the standpoint of one situation, just like this, from the made of the expressive sound of the form of speech, because one sees the knowledge that one has aroused oneself, just like the expressive form of the body, one understands that it arises from effort. In this way, the first two are those that have the function of holding the one itself. There, too, it is caused by showing other dharmas, but there, it is not caused by oneself determining it. The dharmas of the general and the particular are reasons that have not been distinguished, so it itself is the reason for determining other dharmas. The part of the two is distinguished from the other, and where there is doubt, there, connected with the other, is a definite reason. Just like this, seeing the height from standing and the landing of a bird, because it cannot be determined from the upward direction. Self-induced and made, etc., are said to those who say that sound is permanent. Therefore, here, only one should be grasped. That is, it creates doubt depending on what is entered into, for example, is this sound produced from effort like a pot because it is made? Or lightning, etc.
