It is not that place. Furthermore, by understanding the same meaning of the one with a crest (Śikhin, name of a Buddha), it is reasonable to comprehend that there is one principal in the limb of inference with remainder, because its very entity is the cause. If it is said that it is not reasonable to understand from its difference, it is not so, because difference itself is the result from its concomitance and so on. Is difference named or unnamed? Or, if from the concomitance and so on that is not different from difference, one principal and so on are established, then what does the reason with remainder understand? If that is the case, then the five perfections should not be stated, nor are the ten meanings of the one with a crest. Furthermore, all aspects of a person (skyes bu, individual) cannot be understood. Whether it is the very existence of a person, or the very multitude, or difference, or non-difference, in any way it cannot be understood by inference, because it is not the cause of a person. Therefore, the inference of the Sāṃkhyas (གྲངས་ཅན་པ།) is not reasonable. For those who analyze, inference and so on are preceded by direct perception, because it is the same as that, so it is not summarized. The commentator says that he repeats the thought of the proponent and distinguishes it. To that, because it is preceded by direct perception, inference and so on are not summarized. If it is said that because it is already known that what is preceded by direct perception is valid cognition, so the proponent's inference and so on are not stated, then because it is preceded by direct perception, memory and so on also become other valid cognitions. The one who establishes the connection takes it out from other treatises, unifies it, and then explains inference and so on, which are not preceded by direct perception. If it is said that direct perception itself is direct perception for connection or having and so on, then it is not reasonable whether it is having connection or both, because having and so on do not have root consciousness on the object, and those are not on the object either. It has already been said before that the sense faculty has a non-common object. If the connection depends on many, then how does it understand?

It becomes the object of the mind of the powerful one who is not in a place. If related things are also regarded as related, then inference and so on become necessary, but it is not so with direct perception. The commentators mostly state the inference of the Vaiseṣikas, because they make the seen commonality and the unseen, etc., as the basis for inference. Among them, aggregation, aggregation to the same thing, contradiction, and things related to it are not direct perception, because they believe that the connection related to related things is direct perception. When admitting this, it should be said: The related is not a sign of inference. The related is not something that can be inferred, such as fire and smoke, because there is no difference in the cause of both. It has already been said that it can be understood from all aspects. The one with relatedness is not understood by its own essence. The own essence of related things does not help inference in any way. It is not other, nor is it direct perception. Just as what is understood does not help inference, so it is also with direct perception, as has been said before. For inference, indication, and approximation, refutation should not be stated here, because of what reason? Wherefore? Where inference and so on are, refuting that, this is also refuted. Here, one's own view is not established at all for inference and so on. Because no other connection is shown. Saying a little here is from some views of the Vaiseṣikas. Therefore, know that refuting that, this is also refuted. For the understanding of meaning, it should be said that there is an obstacle to both, the understanding of meaning is either completely certain or completely uncertain. Among them, what is completely certain? In inference, whatever is a completely certain understanding, for example, grasping the meaning of container and place, etc., from smoke, because it is understood from the sign of smoke itself, it is no different from inference. The other is false. The understanding of meaning that is completely uncertain is not valid cognition, because it is the cause of doubt. For example, because it arises from effort, it is impermanent, saying that...
