Or, it is not right to infer that wind and so on have special properties. Because only the generality of the thing itself should be shown as the substance on which touch and so on depend. If it is established from all that follows, just as it is established from all that follows that the nature of wind and so on is inferred. If it is said that touch is not among the visible things, etc., that is not right, because it has not been established, and the refutation is also the same. If the existence of wind and so on is established, then it is also possible not to refute, because from being related to the difference of qualities, from the generality of qualities, the difference of things is inferred by the difference of qualities, but the existence of touch has not been established. It will also be the same as turning away from earth and so on, because the difference of qualities has not been seen, and merely not seeing it establishes turning away from seeing. Even so, it is not reasonable, because only from the visible embodied and obstructive things, the qualities of consciousness are inferred, so the refutation of touch is not established. Because it is seen from the visible and not seen from the invisible, touch is only the visible. Because they are many, there will be doubt as to whose this is. Therefore, it is not reasonable to infer wind after blocking everything. Furthermore, By the accomplisher of trustworthy words, It prevents others from that. This also means that after inferring the generality of things and abandoning the inference that it exists in it, by the measure of trustworthy words, preventing it from existing in other things and accomplishing its existence in the wind, so it is the same. Similarly, so are the others. Therefore, wind and so on only become established from the scriptures. If it is said to be established as non-different, just as the scriptures and inference are established as non-different, then inference will become the object of its own characteristics. That is not, Because difference may also exist, Due to the reason of being widely known, examples should not be shown, some people distinguish sound from inference.

If, because it is so well-known, examples should not be shown, then, for example, just as inferring fire from smoke, there, meaningful inference would also become a fault of sound. Others say that the sound of meaning is not different, but the sound is merely an approximation, not inferring that meaning itself; this is the distinction. Even so, how can it be said that meaning is inferred from an approximation that is not different from sound? Because the meaning expressed by the sound of 'tree' is not other, even if the sound of 'substance' understands that meaning itself, it understands the difference from what is not another substance through another way. If the sound of 'tree' can understand the difference from what is not a substance, it is understood from the meaning, not from the sound. Therefore, there is no fault. If asked, it does not become a fault, but it depends. The sound itself, other than words like 'tree,' should be spoken of as valid cognition, and the sound that expresses action also understands that very way of meaning. Some say that only speech is sound, and words are not the cause of understanding it, because meaning is understood from the mere essence of that sound. Therefore, taking only other specific features, they say that sound is spoken of as different from inference. The thought on this is that a sign separated from sound is called inference. Sound is also not related to a non-common object, so two kinds of inference should be examined: visible meaning and invisible meaning. Among these, for visible meaning, it is unclear. For invisible meaning, it is merely conceptualization, not distinguishing the differences of meaning. If the sound of heavens, etc., does not merely express meaning, how can it be inference itself? Trustworthy words also do not deceive, Because they are the same, they are inference itself. Even grasping trustworthy words, because they are the same in not deceiving, they are also said to be inference itself. It is also said: "Because the actions of names are manifest for the sake of all meanings." Therefore, inference should also be refuted for the nature of direction, chief, etc. Therefore, the object of inference is not its own characteristic.
