From the age of five, the Dharma first arose in Li country (Khotan). Manjushri and Maitreya realized that this Li country was the abode of the Buddhas of the three times. Maitreya took birth as a human and incarnated as a king named Bijayasambhava. Manjushri incarnated as the noble monk Vairochana and went to the garden of Tsarma Tsule, the place where karma and afflictions are perfected. He became the virtuous friend of all sentient beings in Li country, corrected and taught the Li language to children and shepherds, and also taught the Li script, after which the Dharma flourished. Then, King Bijayasambhava of Yeu-la became the patron and initially built the great Tsarma temple in Li country for the virtuous friend, the noble Vairochana. The ministers and all the subjects of the Li king Bijayasambhava also requested to build a temple each in Tsarma, and many temples were built. The king thought: If I do not allow the construction of temples, it will become an actual sin for me. If so many are built, I will be discouraged that even if they become dilapidated in the future, they will be difficult to restore. So he asked the virtuous friend, the noble Vairochana. Vairochana said: If you order the construction of temples and stupas for the relics of the Tathagata, it will not become a sin. The king also ordered the ministers and subjects in the same way. When King Bijayasambhava was building the great Tsarma temple, there was not a single small Tsarma temple or stupa built by the king's entourage, ministers, and subjects that did not contain relics of the Buddha. After the temple was built, the noble Vairochana said to King Bijayasambhava: Strike the big bell and invite the noble ones. The king replied: The Tathagata has appeared here manifestly, and I will not strike the bell until you hand the bell to me. Immediately, the monk Vairochana, an emanation of Manjushri, manifested as the Tathagata in the sky, together with the sixteen great Shravakas.

In Tsarma, the Tathagata manifested the aspect of Nirvana and handed the Ghaṇṭā to King Vijaya Sambhava. When the king struck the Ghaṇṭā, its sound resonated for seven days without ceasing. As a symbol of the Tathagata's emanation manifesting Nirvana, footprints were left in Gormala, which are still present in Tsarma. The king offered various precious items to the sixteen great Arhats, and the sixteen offerings were bestowed as treasures by the saints within the Tsarma monastery. In the future, when the degenerate age arrives and the Sangha lacks patrons, and when life becomes difficult, these precious offerings will emerge from the earth, as prophesied by the venerable Sangha benefactor To facilitate the offerings to the venerable Bhairochana, the Naga king named Hulor invited a stupa containing the relics of seven Tathagatas from Kashmir, descending from the sky and residing in Tsarma. This stupa is housed within the clean room, and its shadow is clearly visible. When a king named Vijaya Singha went to offer prayers at the Tsarma monastery, he saw a stone statue suddenly walking and exclaimed, "I have committed the five heinous crimes," and traces of this remain to this day. The protectors of this monastery are the deities named Lhän Namkhai Chän (ལྷན་ནམ་མཁའི་སྤྱན, Sky Eye) and Norbu Sangpo (ནོར་བུ་བཟང་པོ, Excellent Jewel), and even today there are manifestations and signs. Combining the prophecies of the saints, the initial construction of these monasteries was also done by virtuous friends and saintly patrons, and the relics of the Tathagatas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, and Pratyekabuddhas are enshrined within the monasteries and stupas, making them very potent and powerful in blessing. The first monastery to appear in Li Yul (Khotan, present-day Xinjiang Hotan area) was no earlier than this one. Later, in Tsarma, after the emanation of Manjushri, the venerable Bhairochana, propagated the Dharma, and King Vijaya Sambhava built the monastery, no other monasteries were built until the seventh generation of kings in Li Yul. After that, in India...

From Khotan (present-day Hotan, Xinjiang) came four noble Arhats, namely Buddhadatta, Khagandata, Khagaroyang, and Khagadra, who resided in the sacred land of Kustana. At that time, a Bodhisattva incarnation named Lije Vajra Virya became king. The king, looking from the top of the palace, saw something like gold and silver beyond the sky, so he went to investigate. When he arrived at the place where the great stupa of Gumti Temple now stands, he realized that it was the Yaksha chief Shavani, who said to the king, "O King, you should build a temple here as prophesied by the Buddha." The king asked, "For whom to build?" He said, "Build it for the messengers of the Buddha, the four noble Arhats, Buddhadatta and others, who are your virtuous friends." The noble Arhats also came to King Vijaya Virya and preached the Dharma, and the king recalled his past life's aspirations. Immediately, he planted the divination stake there and built the Gumti Temple. Later, when King Vijaya Virya went to make offerings at the Gumti Temple, he lost a young son. He searched for him and found the son in the valley of Kustana, near the stupa where the relics of Buddha Kashyapa were enshrined. Then the king asked, "When and by whom was this stupa built?" The virtuous friends, the noble ones, said, "This stupa was built when Buddha Kashyapa passed into Nirvana, and the relics of Buddha Kashyapa are enshrined inside. When Khotan was once a lake, this stupa was submerged but not destroyed by the water. Later, this place became land again. This stupa will be submerged again but will not be destroyed by the water. When Maitreya Buddha appears, even if the lake dries up and becomes land, this stupa will appear. This place is blessed by the Buddhas of the past, present, and future. Among the Buddha's pure lands, Kustana is also the only palace land, and the Buddhas of the three times have all descended here and given prophecies. Sentient beings
