交付给童子金刚部和天女慧希以及天女夺等眷属后，薄伽梵自己也与四众眷属成千上万一起在虚空中飞往于阗（新疆和田）。现在在古母底寺大塔正对面的海面上，在七多罗树高度的天空中，坐在莲花座上，从十方诸佛刹土的如来为了加持于阗而劝请，普放光明。十方安住的一切如来也为了加持于阗，从各自的佛刹土向释迦牟尼佛供养的菩萨眷属和守护国土并加持的咒语心髓，并发放光芒，一时汇集到释迦牟尼佛的顶髻上加持，发出了“善哉”的巨大声音。然后，薄伽梵释迦牟尼佛也用光芒照亮了变成大海的于阗，从那些光芒中，水面上出现了三百六十三朵莲花。每朵莲花上都出现了一盏酥油灯，然后那些光芒汇聚在一起，在水面上顺时针旋转三圈，然后沉入水中央。然后，薄伽梵告诉圣舍利子和多闻天王之子：“你们把这座名为‘曼萨瓦尔那瓦尔瓦达’的墨色山一样的湖泊劈开。”于是，圣舍利子的锡杖根部和多闻天王之子的矛尖劈开了湖泊。薄伽梵也在牛头山上的大身像左侧的寺庙里，像疾病一样安放着一座小塔的地方，为了利益众生而安住了七根舍利。然后，圣阿难向薄伽梵请教：“薄伽梵，是什么原因，什么缘故，这些光芒、莲花和酥油灯会显现？是什么原因，什么缘故，这些光芒汇聚在一起，顺时针旋转三圈后沉入水中央？”

After entrusting to the youth Vajra Division, the daughter of the gods, Blo Rabten, and the goddess Aphrogma and other retinues, the Bhagavan himself, together with hundreds of thousands of the fourfold retinue, soared into the sky and went to Li country (Khotan, Xinjiang). Now, directly above the lake in front of the great stupa of Gumtir, he sat on a lotus seat in the sky, which was as high as seven tala trees. From each of the Buddha-fields in the ten directions, the Tathagatas, urged to bless Li country, sent forth rays of light in all directions. All the Tathagatas residing in the ten directions also, in order to bless Li country, sent forth the essence of mantras to the Shakyamuni Buddha from their respective Buddha-fields, along with the retinue of Bodhisattvas who make offerings and protect the country, and blessed them. The rays of light converged on the crown of Shakyamuni Buddha at once, and a great sound of "Good!" arose. Then, the Bhagavan Shakyamuni also illuminated the transformed sea of Li country with rays of light, and from those rays, three hundred and sixty-three lotuses appeared on the water. On each lotus, a butter lamp appeared. Then those rays of light converged, circled three times clockwise on the water, and then sank into the middle of the water. Then, the Bhagavan told the venerable Shariputra and the son of Vaishravana: "You split this lake, which is like a mountain of ink called 'Mamsavarnavarbata'." Then, the root of Shariputra's staff and the tip of Vaishravana's son's spear split the lake. The Bhagavan also resided in that place with seven relics for the benefit of sentient beings, in the temple on the left side of the great statue on the top of Glandong Mountain, where a small stupa was placed like a disease. Then, the venerable Ananda asked the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, what is the cause, what is the reason, that these rays of light, lotuses, and butter lamps appear? What is the cause, what is the reason, that these rays of light converge, circle three times clockwise, and then sink into the middle of the water?"

Then the Blessed One said to Ananda: "Because Shariputra's staff root and Vaishravana's son's spear tip pierced the sea, later the water dried up, and after my parinirvana, this place called Li-yul will appear. Where the rays of light circled three times, the great city of five fortresses will later be built by Uthen (present-day Hotan, Xinjiang). In the place where the rays of light disappeared in the water, in order to bless and protect this place, I will bless the Buddha image of Raja-grama with sandalwood, so that the image of the body will disappear like a shadow, and it will descend from India through the sky and abide here. In the place where lotuses and flames appeared in the water, later there will be three hundred and sixty-three great monasteries where monks and nuns who practice the Mahayana will reside, built by kings and other patrons and faithful people, and as Bodhisattva monks and nuns, they will make offerings to the relics of the Tathagata. There will always be two hundred and fifty renunciates and two hundred and fifty laypeople, a total of five hundred people. Furthermore, the irreversible La-ang-se Bodhisattvas mostly abide in the practice of the Mahayana Dharma. The Tathagata entrusted Manjushri Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara, and the other eight great Bodhisattvas, as well as Vaishravana's son, the great commander of the Yaksha army Yangdak She, the daughter of the lineage Immaculate Light, the youth Vajra-lam-dral, and the gods and nagas, to protect this place at all times.
