There is no non-guarding. Therefore, the wise should guard it. The wise should treat the faults of desire with disgust, treat hatred with love and the merit of being accustomed to playfulness, and guard against ignorance with the thought of impermanence, mindfulness of death, and diligence. Thus, seeing the fear of not guarding, one strives to guard the senses, and because it is an object that gives rise to craving, one should be mindful of the causes of enjoyment. The food of others, rotten things, images of trees, and the means of livelihood such as saliva are all causes of fear. Therefore, one should enjoy after examining them properly and truly with the power of individual examination, and be free from the arising of desire, hatred, and ignorance, without special attachment and bondage, without special craving, seeing the faults, possessing the wisdom of renunciation, not for the sake of playfulness, not for the sake of obesity, not for the sake of adornment, not for the sake of making the color beautiful, not for the sake of dressing up, but because of the need in other situations, one temporarily enjoys clothes. In order to protect from the touch of mosquitoes, horseflies, heat, cold, and poisonous snakes, not to cover up privacy out of shame. In order to conform to the monastic customs, one should enjoy alms. In order to make this body exist and live, guarding life is like wiping the wheel of a vehicle, extremely without attachment, like applying ointment to eliminate the feeling of a wound, like quenching hunger and thirst without craving, in order to protect life, and in order to abide in celibacy for a long time, like eating the flesh of a son in order to be liberated from a solitary place, without attachment, thus one should separately destroy old feelings, and not generate new feelings, thus the amount of food should be moderate like medicine, and slightly reduce food to make this body exist for a long time, and because this itself is a disease, there is no fault, and it is in accordance with yoga, and the body easily abides, and the craving of

One should abide in the happiness that is not bound by attachment, and by eating in moderation, one should not give rise to displeasure, thirst, panting, heaviness of body due to food, drowsiness, and sleep. One should be well-behaved and abide in happiness for the sake of benefiting yoga, not for the sake of conceptualization, not for the sake of satiety, not for the sake of adornment. One should separately examine these things to be abandoned, such as: separately examine that this body is for the purpose of being maintained, being sustained, eliminating inauspiciousness, and benefiting celibacy. Thinking in one's mind: in order to abandon old feelings, in order not to generate new feelings. In this way, separately examine eating in moderation, living by living in a blameless way, and abiding in happiness. One should separately examine eating in moderation. One should separately examine what should be abandoned, not clinging to sensual pleasures, not relying on them, but entering in order to eliminate hunger, in order to abandon the feelings that have arisen, in order not to generate new feelings, not relying on oneself and fatigue. The remaining words are in accordance with the intermediate state and accordance. Thus, one should also properly attend to the bedding, examine it separately, and enjoy it completely. For example, one should also examine the bedding with improper attention and enjoy it completely. It is necessary to eliminate the touch of mosquitoes, wind, heat, poisonous snakes, rain, and hail, to eliminate manifest harm, to properly place internally, to be in accordance, and to enjoy in order to reduce distractions such as sounds. Taking medicine for illness is to eliminate the feelings that cause harm, and to obtain supreme happiness, one should contemplate that the body has many faults and take it. Thus, when entering with the power of separate examination for the necessities of accomplishing life, one must not first generate faults, and this person's discipline will be completely purified.
