It is small. Because it possesses impure qualities, it is impure like a charnel ground. Because unpleasant sounds pervade everywhere, it is similar to that. Because those who uphold morality should abandon it, it should be abandoned in the same way. Because it is possible to live together with people of equal fortune, it is like a man like a snake. Because the wise practitioners of pure conduct should not observe its nature, like a charnel ground, a great assembly of beings should utter lamentations. Like animals, it is a base and defiled woman, who, upon contact, soon becomes the cause of entering a pyre, dwelling and embracing in a burning abode, and will fall into the suffering of pretas. Protecting the body with ropes of hair, and fiercely and repeatedly stabbing the heart with a burning short spear, the pain is hot and sharp. Because the curses of sons and daughters of good families are near, they are tormented day by day. Wearing robes of extremely painful Dharma, burned by burning iron plates. Eating extremely burning iron pills, one enjoys the merit that ripens extremely hot. Dwelling in an extremely burning iron pot, one enjoys the unbearable suffering of a ripened bed, and is destroyed day by day, therefore becoming an object of great compassion for the holy ones. Like a piece of firewood from a cremation, it is useless and lost from both benefits. In the assembly of holy beings, it is filled with fear, and the world cannot be trusted. It is impossible to remain stable. Even the gods do not like it. Hearing news of broken vows causes suffering. Hearing news of perfect vows causes regret. Hearing this, one will not become worthy of receiving qualities such as pride, like the fire of a charnel ground. He will die in ignorance, and after death, he will also take birth in hell and the preta realm. Years

After countless eons have passed, even if liberated from it, due to the remaining residue of its ripening, in this life, one has a short lifespan and meager resources. Because of the presence of rivals, one is suppressed, suffers many slanders, hears unpleasant sounds, loses friends and relatives, has disharmonious retinues, is not trustworthy, and matures with the lack of discipline and views, enduring suffering. The corruption of discipline leads to small merit, etc. Such ripening will eventually come to pass. One will obtain the opportunity to be born into a low caste, and also experience much suffering. Having been thrown there by bad karma, due to the karma of becoming a low caste, one does not learn discipline, indulges in non-holy matters, and endlessly falls into the fire of hell. In order to generate steadfastness in discipline, one should correctly contemplate the faults of corrupting discipline. For the merits of abiding in discipline, one should fully examine the opposite side of the faults. If one correctly guards discipline, the fire of regret will be extinguished. As a cause for generating joy and great reverence, one will increase the virtuous deeds of body and speech. This is the only path to enter the city of liberation, there is no second path to human and divine power and accomplishment. As a cause for generating fame, renown, and happiness, life and slander cannot shake it. The faces of teachers, disciples, and friends will not change, becoming a gate of happiness that is not despised. One associates with holy people, becoming a ritual for increasing merit. If one possesses these, the merits of the wise become a vessel for great beings. Whatever shortcomings there are in corrupting discipline, one abandons those faults. One will also be praised by the holy Dharma, and understand to rejoice in merit. Possessing the ability to understand differences, one's self also becomes worthy of praise by merits. Equal to holy people, whether one's own merits are vast or small, One will not be stained by the faults of corrupting discipline, nor will one obtain the suffering arising from it. If the lord of men, the lord of the thirty-three, if he wishes, can also exhaust existence and peace. Discipline

It is obtained through pure lands, and the root of fulfilling aspirations is also discipline. Thus, those who possess discipline and those who break discipline, after observing the merits and faults of these two, one's mind should be extremely contracted and not enter into breaking discipline. For discipline, one should increase the joy of the mind, be delighted and cherish it greatly. The mind that rejoices and cherishes discipline should increase manifestly, and one should protect it with reverence. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it bestows what is needed through the power of thought. Like reason, it accomplishes the objects that one manifestly desires. Like a poor person finding a wonderful vase from a deity, it should be protected as one cherishes one's own body. Like a capable and beneficial friend who diligently follows, like a wise person who loves virtue, like a beloved only child. Like a vast treasure appearing in the home, like being free from the suffering of disease and old age, it is equivalent to life. Like a city lord, it is replete with virtues. Like fertile fields, the interior is filled with grain. Like the supreme medicine that dispels all diseases, therefore, one should protect discipline with reverence that surpasses this. In the teaching of the path of goodness, it is called the complete purification of discipline, which is the first perfection. Thus, the practitioner of yoga, with this complete purification of discipline, should truly accept the merits of the main practice of the branch of perfect concentration. After the practitioner of yoga truly accepts the merits of practice, one becomes content with little desire, contented, extremely solitary, abandoning afflictions, initiating diligence, easy to nourish, easy to satisfy, and dwells in the touch of bliss. With few activities, one can protect discipline, which is a favorable condition for achieving concentration, and it is in accordance with the lineage of past noble ones, and it can generate great faith. The twelve merits of practice from this are: dwelling in the wilderness, wearing rags collected from dust heaps, begging for food, eating in one sitting, not lying down, not accepting food offered later, possessing three Dharma robes, wearing woolen garments, dwelling wherever one is, dwelling in a charnel ground,
