That is, the meaning of being rude. Its nature is roughness itself. Unpleasant is disharmony. Hearing it is clamorous. Irrelevant is nonsense. Disrespectful is displeasing. That's all, it is the result of verbal misconduct. Greed destroys the hope in the heart. These and others are the fruits of the mind's faults. The thing that is thought of in the mind and obviously wanted, will become meaningless and fruitless, this is its summary. Because it gives fear, it is giving fear. Saying is telling. The view that there is no afterlife, etc., is a wrong view. That is the evil view itself. The view of slander is an evil view, it is a wrong view. Its nature is the evil view itself. It will be obtained, and it will also become the wrong view itself, this is its meaning. Mental confusion is that it will become crazy, this is the remaining part. After speaking of the unfavorable aspects of the law of evil characteristics, one wants to speak of the unfavorable aspects of the law of entering characteristics, therefore, taking what is not given, etc., is said. Poverty is not having wealth, its nature is poverty itself. Living achieved through faults such as hypocrisy is wrong livelihood, because living is contrary to the meaning of what is said. Completely relying on it, therefore, one will be deceived, this is the remaining part. Pride is because of the unfavorable aspect of not offering to the place of offering. Pride is stiffness and arrogance, occupied by flaunted pride. What is the similarity between this and a tree? That is, not yielding, just as a tree does not yield to anything, being overwhelmed by pride is also the same. Bad is because it is degraded, so it is of low caste. It arises there, so it is of low caste. Its nature is low caste itself. For this person, there is splendor, that is, little majesty, so it is little splendor. Its nature is little splendor itself. Through what will it become like that? By completely relying on jealousy. Jealousy is being upset from the heart by the perfection of others. How is this said? Whoever offers

Not making offerings is due to two faults, namely pride and jealousy. Recognizing that the result of these two is undesirability, one should abandon them. The disturbance of mind caused by newly arising harm is anger, which is the opposite of loving-kindness. What will that become? It is an unpleasant complexion. If angry, those who desire the Dharma will not consult the wise. Because of not consulting, one becomes foolish, becoming without knowledge. In which beings do these non-virtuous results exist? It is said, in humans. Are these non-virtuous results merely similar causes? No, it is said, "all" and so on. All of these will first lead to bad migrations. The degraded destination is the bad migration, that is, the destinations of hell and hungry ghosts. For those just mentioned, such as killing, is the nature of killing and so on an action that is not the meaning of happiness? For the sake of accomplishing a bad form, those names called non-virtuous are called that. Vipāka is completely matured. What is proclaimed? It is what is said, from "killing leads to a short life" to "not asking the wise is foolish." Is the Dharma with the nature of both also the meaning of happiness? For the sake of accomplishing a good form, it is called virtuous, and for those, the results are the opposite and inconsistent. The arising of results is the arising of results. Thus, after showing virtue and non-virtue together with results, the famous virtues and non-virtues in the scriptures, together with results, are shown by "attachment" and so on. Because form, sound, smell, taste, and touch cause the world to become attached, it is attachment, which is the meaning of the desire for existence. Hatred is the nature of killing. Ignorance is not understanding. The word "and" means that not only are attachment and so on non-virtuous in nature, but also the actions produced by them are non-virtuous, which is a summary. What is produced by those is produced by them. Body and speech and
