What is called "what" and for what reason? "What" is the distinction of all things, that is, all that arises and is born from the consciousness of individual ordinary beings in the past is examined by the consciousness with outflows, which is the meaning of the word. To know that which is examined from non-existence, that is, if one examines in this way, "What is true in this?" then in order to fully know as it is, only consciousness ceases below the state of individual ordinary beings, and it becomes invisible to them. Just as consciousness becomes fire, it cannot exist without fuel, so it is shown by "consciousness fire" and so on. Because it goes from birth to various places, it is called a "goer." Its dharma is the characteristic of birth and so on. Non-perverted thought is proper discernment as it is. Because this has that light, it is like that, that is, when one does not even see one's own nature, then it is called "peaceful." Thus, since everything is affirmed to be non-existent, it is affirmed that it speaks of non-existence. If asked, that which arises from the end prevents it, and determination is its ascertainment. If it is said, "Will space become real?" then it is prevented by "form" and so on. If it is said, "If form is mentioned, does it exist?" then it is prevented by "non-arising." The form of non-arising is non-existent, therefore there is no name, and because there is no name, there is only no name. In the past, in particular, the eye, consciousness, form, and ignorance were shown to be non-existent. Now, in general, it shows the nature of feeling, perception, volition, and so on, as well as the nature of non-existence like self. Therefore, saying that the six elements are without self means that they are without inherent existence. Thus, after separately showing the laws of the cause of manifest highness and definite goodness, again, like water, trees, branches, etc., it is shown by comparing with other reasons. That is, like a water tree with so many branches established, if all those branches are dismantled and separated individually,

Just as there is no tree called "Lachu Shing," similarly, those who are referred to as beings of as many realms as there are, if all of them are destroyed and analyzed, they cannot be found. The term "nothing at all" refers to being relative to substance. Because it is so, therefore, the victorious Buddha, the Bhagavan, taught that all phenomena are without self. It should be understood as "there is no person." If it is said that there are six realms, the remainder will prevent that. Because it has been ascertained, it must be determined as non-existent. Even those six realms, because they have been ascertained, are non-existent. Thus, correctly speaking, all phenomena are without self, and in relation to that, it does not exist as a thing, the remainder shows this. Therefore, body, speech, and mind are able to endure and are correctly summarized, being the great able one, the Bhagavan. Reversed is what has become reversed. Thus, seeing and hearing, and so on, and so on is the first. Differentiating distinctions and distinguishing consciousness, for what initially has seeing and hearing, that is seeing and hearing, and so on. That which is endured is not true, this is spoken relying on suchness. What is not false is in conventional terms. If these two are not spoken relying on what is not true, then "from the aspect" and so on will prevent it, because it manifests and makes clear, it is an aspect. If some thing has previously been made into an aspect, then in relation to that, it will become an opposing aspect, a discordant aspect. Therefore, by this method, one does not affirm existence itself and non-existence itself, meaning that it is not its own nature. For whatever world is spoken of in this way, in all ways, that world which is not self-existent, as it is said, shows that there are limits and so on. If the Buddha, the Bhagavan, also does not affirm existence and non-existence in conventional terms, he does not affirm existence in the three times, because in suchness, there is not even a little bit of existence, the final verse shows that meaning. Those that have more than sixty numerical chapters are countless. Gone is the past. The term "thus" should be spoken generally. What will come is the future.
