It is said of the wisdom arising from thought, which holds the meaning without being inverted, because it is the method of entering into it. If it is analyzed as not being a cause, then there is no cause in either case, which is a summary statement. Not being a cause itself refers to the cause of the state that arises before the fruit. If a fruit arises, then that which produces its basis is the cause, and if it does not exist, how can it be a cause? Simultaneous arising is also not a producer, so it is not a cause, because there is no certainty in arising now. In order to show that this meaning is not famous in this way, it is said, "In imputation and reality," and so on. Imputation is establishment, that is, convention. Fame is extreme fame, because there is no convention, which is a summary statement. If one acts from the perspective of reality itself, then arising in reality is birth. That is also because it is not extremely famous. Here it has also been shown that there is no birth in "this is neither self-arising nor other-arising." Having thus negated arising in reality, if someone says, "Then, is even just this condition negated?" To those who say this, it should be said: Just this condition is like this, that is, "Because this exists, this arises." This "this" refers to the cause. "Because it exists" means "if it exists." This "this" refers to the fruit. If one asks, "What is this like?", for example, it is like if there is long, there is short. The same meaning is established by another example, this "this" refers to the cause, this "this" refers to the fruit. The remainder is easy to understand. This conclusion is a refutation, previously in convention, what was said to be short in dependence on long, if that were real, because there is no long, and because short has no self-nature of its own, then there is also no long that depends on it. If one says that even if there is no name for short, there is still something that has a name, that is also not reasonable, because there is no birth in reality, and neither is possible. Similarly, because this arises, this also arises, for example, just as if there is a flame, there is light, the same should be said of the flame. If that is the case, then the arising of cause and fruit is not real. Then what is it?

Therefore, it is shown by concluding with "it is a term." Cause and effect are cause and effect, which are their respective arising. "Seeing" means knowing. "As it is" means as its own nature. If asked what its own nature is, it is mentioned that "it arises from elaboration." Elaboration refers to the proliferation of conceptual manifestations through the imputation of names, meaning that it arises from that. Although there is no real arising, one does not deny non-existence, nor does one approach it, i.e., one does not cling to the view of non-existence. "Truly as it is" means without inversion, and in terms of its own nature, it is just that. By fully understanding it, one will be liberated from all bonds and suffering. The views of existence and non-existence are themselves two. One does not rely on those two, i.e., one does not abide in them, and one is free from the concept of duality. In the state of ordinary beings, due to ignorance, for those with inverted minds, there arise the forms of permanence and annihilation, as well as the views of existence and non-existence. For those who abide in Nirvana and without interruption, ignorance, even in the smallest part, tends towards the manifestation of cessation. Therefore, because there is no inverted clinging, it has not become like that, i.e., one does not rely on it, and therefore it is said to be liberation. From afar, etc., the meaning is clarified with an analogy, i.e., a person living far away sees what is not water as the form of water, and therefore it is not clear. Similarly, due to place and time, the form seen from afar with a deluded eye is also not clear. Hands, feet, and sticks, etc., can serve as forms and can cause harm, therefore they are forms. If one sees, how can it be unclear? Because one sees what is not water as the form of water. Those who are close to it clearly and manifestly see the form itself, but not the form of water. Just as the form of a mirage seen from afar is not clear, this is a superfluous word. Similarly, just as those who are far from Nirvana and have become the basis of all faults see the cycle of existence as its true nature, those who are close to it are close to Nirvana.
