ད་དབྱིབས་ཅན་དེ་གཟིགས་ནས། །གཡོ་བ་མེད་ཅིང་དེ་ཉིད་དུ་ནི་ཞུགས་པའི་སྤྱན། །ཆགས་པར་གྱུར་ཅིང་ཁ་ལོ་འཛིན་པ་ལ་སྨྲས་སོ། །མངོན་པར་ཉེར་འོངས་མི་དེ་སུ་ཡིན་འདྲེན་པ་ཀྱེ། །སྐྲ་རྣམས་དཀར་ཞིང་དབྱུག་པ་ལ་ནི་ལག་པས་བརྟེན། །སྨིན་མས་ཀུན་ནས་མིག་གཡོགས་འཁོགས་ཤིང་ཡན་ལག་དྲུང༌། །རྣམ་འགྱུར་འདི་ནི་ཐ་མལ་གང་འདོད་ཡིན་ནམ་ཅི། །དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲ་ཤིང་རྟ་རབ་ཏུ་འདྲེན་པ་པོ། །ལྷ་མཆོག་དེ་རྣམས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་བློ་ནི་རྨོངས་བྱས་ཤིང༌། །དོན་ནི་བསྲུང་བྱ་ཡིན་ཡང་སྐྱོན་མེད་མཐོང་གྱུར་ཏེ། །དེ་ཡིས་ས་སྐྱོང་བདག་ཉིད་སྐྱེས་ལ་ངེས་པར་གསོལ། །གཟུགས་ཀྱི་གནོད་བྱེད་སྟོབས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པར་ཟ་བ་པོ། །རྒན་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་འཇོམས་བྱེད་མྱ་ངན་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ས། །དྲན་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཉམས་བྱེད་དབང་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དགྲ། །འདི་ནི་རྒས་པ་ཞེས་བྱ་གང་གིས་འདི་བཅོམ་མོ། །འདིས་ཀྱང་བྱིས་པ་ཉིད་དང་འོ་མ་འཐུང་གྱུར་ཅིང༌། །དུས་ཀྱིས་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་གཉིད་ལོག་གྱུར་པ་སྟེ། །རིམ་གྱིས་ལུས་རབ་ལྡན་པའི་ལང་ཚོར་གྱུར་ནས་ཀྱང༌། །རིམ་གྱིས་དེ་ཉིད་ཁོ་ནས་རྒ་བར་ཉེ་བར་སོང༌། །དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་བདག་ཉིད་སྐྱེས་པ་སྟེ། །ཅུང་ཞིག་འདར་ལ་ཁ་ལོ་སྒྱུར་ལ་འདི་སྐད་སྨྲས། །སྐྱོན་འདི་ཁོ་པོ་ལ་ཡང་འབྱུང་བ་མིན་ནམ་ཅི། །དེ་བཞིན་འདི་ལ་ཁ་ལོ་སྒྱུར་བ་ཡིས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །འདི་ནི་ན་ཚོད་རབ་མཆོག་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པའི་ཡང༌། །གདོན་མི་ཟ་བར་དུས་ཀྱི་དབང་གིས་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར། །དེ་བཞིན་རྒས་པ་གཟུགས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པར་ཉམས་པ་བོར། །འཇིག་རྟེན་བ་ཡི་ཤེས་པ་ཉིད་ངང་མཐོང་བ་ཉིད། །དེ་ནས་སྔོན་གྱི་བསམ་པ་དག་པའི་བློ་མངའ་བ། །རྣམ་རྒྱས་བསྐལ་བར་བསགས་པའི་བསོད་ནམས་ལས་ཅན་དང༌། །རྡོ་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོའི་སྒྲ་ལ་ཉེ་བར་བ་ལང་བཞིན། །རྒས་པ་ཐོས་ནས་གཞོན་ནུ་ཀུན་ནས་ཡི་མུག་གྱུར། །དབུགས་ནི་རིང་དུ་བརྒྱུས་ནས་རང་གི་མགོ་བསྒུལ་ཞིང༌། །འཁོགས་པ་དེ་ལ་སྤྱན་ནི་རྣམ་པར་ཞུགས་ནས་སུ། །རྒ་བ་དང་བཅས་སྐྱེ་བ་དེ་རྣམས་གཟིགས་གྱུར་ནས། །སེམས་ནི་ཁོང་དུ་ཆུད་པ་དེ་ཡིས་ཚིག་འདི་སྨྲས། །དྲན་པ་དང་ནི་གཟུགས་དང་ཕ་རོལ་གནོན་པ་ཡང༌། །དེ་ལྟར་རྒས་པས་རྣམ་དཔྱོད་མེད་པར་ འཇོམས་པས་ཏེ། །འདི་ལྟ་བུ་ར་ནི་མངོན་སུམ་ཉིད་དུ་སོང་ན་ཡང༌། །འཇིག་རྟེན་པ་དག་སྐྱོ་མེད་ཉེར་འགྲོ་ཁོ་ནའོ། །དེ་ལྟར་སོང་ལ་འདྲེན་པ་རྟ་རྣམས་ཕྱིར་ཟློག་ལ། །ཁྱོད་ནི་ཁྱིམ་ཉིད་དུ་ནི་སྐྱེས་པར་རབ་ཏུ་སོང༌། །རྒས་པའི་འཇིགས་པའི་སེམས་སུ་གནས་པ

如今观看那形体，眼目不动且安住，心生爱恋，对御者说道：‘御者啊，那位显现走近的人是谁？头发斑白，手拄着拐杖，眉毛遮蔽眼睛，身体弯曲，这副模样是寻常所愿还是什么？’如此说道时，那善于驾车的御者，使那些天神的智慧昏昧，虽然理应保密，却毫无隐瞒地看见了，他向护佑国土的王子如实禀告：‘衰老是形体的损害者，力量的吞噬者，老人们的摧毁者，忧愁的根源，记忆的破坏者，诸根的仇敌，这被称为衰老，是谁摧毁了它呢？’‘它也曾是婴儿，饮用乳汁，在摇篮中安睡，逐渐拥有健壮的身体，变得年轻，然后又逐渐被它自身引向衰老。’王子如此说道，略微颤抖，转过头来，这样说道：‘这种过患也会发生在我身上吗？’御者也这样回答他：‘即使是年龄最盛、寿命最长的人，也无法避免，终将受到时间的支配。’衰老会舍弃形体的美貌，世间之人却视而不见。此后，那位拥有清净意念、往昔善念之人，于无数劫中积累了功德，如同雷霆之声般，听闻衰老后，年轻人彻底厌倦了。他长长地叹息，摇着自己的头，眼睛凝视着那位老者，看到那些衰老和出生的人们，心中领悟，说出这样的话：‘记忆、美貌和战胜他人的能力，都这样被衰老毫不留情地摧毁。’即使这样的景象显而易见，世人却毫无厌倦地趋之若鹜。’如此说完，便命令御者将马车掉头，‘你赶快送我回宫殿吧！’心中充满了对衰老的恐惧。

Now, beholding that form, with eyes unmoving and fixed, filled with affection, he spoke to the charioteer: 'O charioteer, who is that person approaching? With hair turned white, leaning on a staff with his hand, eyebrows covering his eyes, body bent, is this appearance something ordinary or what?' As he spoke thus, the skilled charioteer, having obscured the minds of those gods, though it was something to be kept secret, saw it without concealment, and he truthfully reported to the prince who protects the land: 'Old age is the destroyer of form, the devourer of strength, the destroyer of the elderly, the source of sorrow, the destroyer of memory, the enemy of the senses. This is called old age; who has destroyed it?' 'It was once a child, drinking milk, sleeping soundly in a cradle, gradually possessing a strong body, becoming young, and then gradually led by that very thing towards old age.' Thus spoke the prince, trembling slightly, turning his head, and saying: 'Will this fault also happen to me?' The charioteer replied to him in the same way: 'Even those of the most advanced age and longest lifespan cannot avoid it; they will inevitably be subject to the power of time.' Old age abandons the beauty of form, yet the people of the world see it without understanding. Thereafter, that one with a pure mind, with thoughts of past virtue, having accumulated merit over countless eons, like a calf near the sound of a great thunderbolt, hearing of old age, the young man became utterly disgusted. He sighed deeply, shaking his own head, his eyes fixed on that old man, seeing those who are born and grow old, comprehending in his heart, he spoke these words: 'Memory, beauty, and the ability to overcome others, are all so mercilessly destroyed by old age.' Even though such a sight is so evident, the people of the world approach it without any weariness.' Having spoken thus, he ordered the charioteer to turn the chariot around, 'Quickly take me back to the palace!' His heart filled with the fear of old age.

་ཁོ་བོ་ལ། །སྐྱེད་མོས་ཚལ་གྱི་ས་ལ་བདེ་བ་ག་ལ་ཡོད། །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་སྲས་པོ་དེ་ཡི་བཀའ་ལུང་གིས། །ཁ་ལོ་སྒྱུར་བས་ཤིང་རྟ་ཕྱིར་ལ་བཟློག་པར་གྱུར། །དེ་ནས་གཞོན་ནུས་ཕོ་བྲང་དེ་ཉིད་ཁོ་ནར་ནི། །བསམ་པའི་དབང་གིས་སྟོང་པ་བཞིན་དུ་རབ་ཏུ་ཐོབ། །གང་གི་ཚེ་ན་དེ་ཡང་བདེ་པ་མ་ཡིན་ཏེ། །རྒས་པ་རྒས་པ་ཞེས་ནི་རབ་ཏུ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྟོག །དེ་ནས་མི་དབང་གིས་ནི་རྗེས་གནང་དེ་ནི་སླར། །རིམ་གྱིས་དེ་ཉིད་ཁོ་ནས་ཕྱི་རོལ་གཤེགས་པར་གྱུར། །དེ་ནས་གཞན་ཡང་ལུས་ལ་ནད་དང་ཡོངས་ལྡན་པ། །ལྷ་མཆོག་དེ་རྣམས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་བསྐྱེད་ཅིང་སྤྲུལ་པའི་མི། །ཟས་གཙང་རྒྱལ་པོའི་སྲས་པོ་ཅན་དེར་སོང་ཉིད་ཀྱིས། །གཟིགས་ནས་ཁ་ལོ་སྒྱུར་བ་དེ་ཉིད་ལ་སྨྲས་པ། །གསུས་པ་སྦོམ་ཞིང་དབུགས་དག་སྐྱོད་པའི་ལུས་ཕོ་ཅན། །ལག་པ་ཆ་ཤས་ཞ་ཞིང་རིད་ལ་སྐྱ་བསེང་ལུས། །ཨ་མ་ཞེས་ནི་སྙིང་རྗེའི་ངག་དག་སྨྲས་པ་པོ། །གཞན་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་གནས་པའི་མི་དེ་སུ་ཞིག་ཡིན། །དེ་ནས་ཁ་ལོ་སྒྱུར་བས་སྨྲས་པ་ཞི་བ་ཀྱེ། །འདི་ཡི་ཁམས་ནི་རབ་འཁྲུགས་རབ་སྟོབས་རབ་ཏུ་འཕེལ། །ནད་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་མངོན་བརྗོད་ཤིན་ཏུ་དོན་མེད་ཆེན་པོ་སྟེ། །ནུས་ཀྱང་གང་གིས་དེ་ནི་རབ་དབང་མེད་པར་བྱས། །རྗེས་སུ་བརྩེ་བཅས་མི་དེ་ལ་ནི་གཟིགས་བཞིན་དུ། །རྒྱལ་པོའི་སྲས་དེས་སླར་ཡང་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་པ། །སྐྱེས་གྱུར་སྐྱོན་དེ་སོ་སོར་འདི་ཉིད་ཁོ་ནའི་འམ། །ནད་ཀྱི་འཇིགས་ལ་སྐྱེ་དགུ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྤྱི་ལ་ཡིན། །དེ་ནས་ཤིང་རྟ་རབ་ཏུ་འདྲེན་པ་དེས་སྨྲས་པ། །གཞོན་ནུ་ཉེས་པ་དེ་ནི་ཐུན་མོང་གྱུར་པ་སྟེ། །དེ་ལྟར་ནད་རྣམས་དག་ནི་ཡོངས་སུ་གཙོར་བ་ནི། །ནང་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ན་འཇིག་རྟེན་དགའ་བར་ཉེ་བར་གཤེགས། །དེ་ལྟར་དོན་ཐོས་སེམས་ནི་ཁོང་དུ་ཆུད་པ་དེ། །ཆུ་རླབས་ནང་སོང་རི་བོང་ཅན་བཞིན་རབ་འདར་ཞིང༌། །བརྩེ་བ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་མངའ་བས་གསུང་ངག་ཚིག་འདི་ནི། །ཅུང་ཞིག་དངར་བའི་དབྱངས་ཀྱིས་རབ་ཏུ་སྨྲས་ པའོ། །སྐྱེ་དགུ་རྣམས་ལ་རྣམ་པར་ཞེན་པའི་ནད་འདི་ནི། །འཇིག་རྟེན་པ་དག་རང་བཞིན་གནས་ཤིང་བློ་གཏད་བྱེད། །མི་ཤེས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱ་ཆེན་ཨེ་མ་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས། །གང་ཞིག་ནད་ལས་རྣམ་པར་གྲོལ་རྣམས་བཞད་གད་བྱེད། །འདྲེན་པ་ཕྱི་རོལ་རབ་ཏུ་འགྲོ་ལས་ཕྱིར་ལོག་ལ།། མི་དབང་ཕོ་བྲང་ཉིད་དུ་ཤིང་རྟ་རབ་ཏུ་སོང༌། །བདག་གི་ནད་ཀྱི་འཇིགས་པ་ཐོས་ནས་དགའ་བ་ལས། །སེམས་ནི་འཁུམས་པ་བཞིན་དུ་རབ་ཏུ་བཅོམ་པར་གྱུར། །དེ་ལྟར་ལན་གཉིས་ཕྱིར་ལོག་དེ་ནི་རབ་གཟིག

我啊！在苗圃的地上哪里有快乐？之后国王的王子以那样的命令，驾车者将马车掉头返回。之后年轻人仅仅在那宫殿里，以思维的力量如虚空般获得。在那时那也不是快乐，完全彻底地领悟到衰老衰老。之后国王再次给予允许，逐渐地仅仅由他自己出外。之后还有身体完全与疾病相伴的人，由天神们创造和幻化的人。净饭王的王子亲自前往那里，看到后对驾车者说：肚子膨胀，呼吸困难，行动迟缓的男人，手脚残疾，瘦弱苍白的身体，说着“妈妈”等慈悲话语的人，依靠他人而生存的那个人是谁？之后驾车者说：寂静者啊！此人的身体成分极度紊乱，极度虚弱，极度衰退。所谓疾病，是虚假的称谓，极其无意义且巨大，力量也被它完全控制而无法自主。之后带着爱怜看着那个人，国王的王子再次这样说道：出生的过失仅仅属于他自己吗？还是疾病的恐惧是所有众生的共同之处？之后马车驾驶员说道：年轻人，这个过错是共同的，因此疾病完全控制着，如果走到生命的尽头，世界会走向喜悦。如此听到意义，内心领悟到，如水波中的兔子般剧烈颤抖，拥有慈爱和悲悯，用稍微沙哑的声音说道：对于众生执着的这种疾病，世间的人们自然存在并信任着。不了解极其广大的（疾病），唉！人们嘲笑那些从疾病中解脱的人。驾驶员从外面返回，马车迅速驶向国王的宫殿。我听到疾病的恐惧，心没有感到高兴，心像被摧毁一样。就这样两次返回都看到了。

Ah, where is happiness on the nursery ground for me? Then, by the command of that prince, the charioteer turned the chariot back. Then the youth, in that very palace, greatly obtained emptiness as if by the power of thought. At that time, that was not happiness either, as he fully and completely realized aging, aging. Then the king again granted permission, and gradually he himself went outside. Then, also, a person fully endowed with illness in his body, a person created and emanated by those supreme gods. The son of King Śuddhodana himself went there, and having seen him, said to the charioteer: 'Who is that man with a swollen belly, labored breathing, and slow movements, with crippled limbs, a thin and pale body, speaking compassionate words like "mother," and living dependent on others?' Then the charioteer said: 'O peaceful one! This one's elements are extremely disturbed, extremely weak, and extremely declining. The so-called disease is a false term, extremely meaningless and great, and by whatever power it has completely made him powerless.' Then, looking at that person with affection, the prince again said this: 'Is the fault of being born only his own, or is the fear of disease common to all beings?' Then the chariot driver said: 'Young man, that fault is common, so diseases completely dominate, and if one reaches the end of life, the world will go near to joy.' Having heard the meaning in this way, his mind, having understood it, trembled greatly like a rabbit in the water, and possessing love and compassion, he spoke these words in a slightly hoarse voice: 'This disease of attachment to beings, worldly people naturally abide in and trust. Not knowing the vastness (of disease), alas! People laugh at those who are liberated from disease.' The driver turned back from going outside, and the chariot quickly went to the king's palace. Having heard the fear of disease, my mind did not rejoice, and my mind was greatly crushed as if destroyed. Thus, he saw both times returning.
