He practiced the supreme asceticism, He abandoned the grudges that had been held firmly for a long time, He obtained the poems with the fragrance of virtues, He completely discarded the dust that causes impurity. He did not take the tax of impermanent offerings, He did not boast about things belonging to others, He did not speak unrighteous words to enemies, He did not hold onto anger in his heart. His mind, the nature of peace, was extremely gentle, How were the senses of one who was fully endowed with yoga? There, the lord of the land who was able to transform greatly, Made the subjects and city dwellers just like that. Then, the mother who possessed beautiful milk, The fame-holding mother, the mother who held her own fame, The son of the son of Śuddhodana, Rāhula, Named Rāhula-dhara, was born at that time. Then, with faith in the supreme joy of desiring a son, The king, the protector of the earth, who well represented the increase of lineage, Was delighted that a son was well born, Just as he was delighted that a grandson was born. The love for the one who became the son of my son, "From where does it come, like me?" joy arose, At that time, he performed those rituals one by one, His joy for his son ascended like the heavens. The best of kings, with names of fame and renown, Having stayed on the path of the first fortune, Without abandoning the white dharma, he offered to the ascetics with asceticism, He made offerings with sacrifices that abandoned harm. With the glory of the king and also the glory of asceticism, That fortunate one blazed from then on, He was also bright with lineage, intelligence, and conduct, He shone greatly like the rays of a thousand glories. Having made offerings with the mantras that arise from self-origination, For the sake of the son's stability, he recited with steadfast glory, The beings did the deeds that ascetics do, Like the lord of beings who desires to create beings, in the beginning. He abandoned weapons and became knowledgeable in treatises, He approached peace and was patient with certainty, Like one with power, he did not approach any place, Like his fathers and grandfathers, he looked upon all places. He also held the kingdom for the sake of his son, The son was of the lineage

For the sake of its meaning, lineage is for fame. Fame rises to the heavens, the heavens being oneself. For the sake of Dharma, oneself desires to abide in a place. Thus, with that which is surely attained by the noble ones, the Dharma accomplished through hearing is of various kinds. From which, after my son sees the face of his son, he pleads not to go to the forest. The glory that I have truly received, desiring to protect, the kings who protect the land guard their sons on the earth. Dharma is the master of the mother of desire, and he also does not abandon the country, protecting his son from the Dharma. Bodhisattvas, knowing all the flavors of happiness in the country, when giving birth to sons, with unparalleled thoughts, go to the forest. Therefore, in order to generate from the root, the accumulated actions, he, until he attains peace, attends to joy. From the great poem called "The Deeds of the Buddha," the chapter on residing in the retinue of consorts is the second chapter. Then, for a time, the soft grasses and the male cuckoo sing upwards, and those who drink their fill, their songs are naturally complete, and the gardens are adorned with lotus blossoms, and thus he hears. Then the women, beings of joy, hear the pleasing things of the city's gardens, and like a song clearly confined within a house, they set their minds to go out. Then, after clearly expressing the pleasing to the son, and after surely hearing from those who do not follow his wishes, with the perfection of love, upon the light of youth, he grants permission to fully go to the sights and so on. The youth, possessing a very youthful mind, thinking that he should not turn into a truly renounced mind, the wretched, diverse beings all gather, and on the king's road, they are turned back. Those with deficient limbs and those with deficient senses, the crippled, the sick, and the poor, in all directions. Then, after truly revealing with supreme peace, the king's roads are all made supremely beautiful. Then, when the glorious king's road has been made, the glorious, tamed, following youth, descending from the wall of the palace at the appointed time, clearly rejoices.
