That is not my word. Although it is the words of many, the black teachings should be abandoned, the pure teachings should be embraced. Discriminating what is and is not, that is Dharma, that is Discipline, that is my word. Therefore, I briefly, explain these valid cognitions, what is done is valid cognition, other than this is not valid cognition. My subtle intention, not distinguishing, not understanding, from ignorance, towards non-Dharma, will arise thoughts of Dharma. With observation accompanied by darkness, or not understanding the distinctions, for that which is extremely similar to gold, how can copper deceive? Because wisdom is not pervasive, or not holding that very thing, with the image of the holy Dharma, just like that, deceived by non-Dharma. From hammering, cutting, smelting, like wise people treat gold, from Discipline, Sutra, reasoning, therefore, it is appropriate to fully discern. Because not understanding the treatises, they are not wise people, towards the improper, having thoughts of propriety, towards the proper, seeing impropriety. Therefore, with meaning and words, through correct hearing, it should be embraced, by embracing the treatises in a reversed way, like weapons, they completely destroy. Like a house with unprecedented, many crooked, night-illuminating lights, words are spoken in a reversed way, suffering will enter into the meaning. From the decay of meaning comes the decay of Dharma, from the decay of Dharma comes the decay of power, therefore, for the non-reversed meaning, whose wisdom is the one endowed with wisdom. Having said thus, Good Increase, went to the city of sin at the right time. There, the wise ones, made excellent service to this. Then there, the respectful one, in the excellent house of Skul-byed (Sanskrit: Preraka, Encourager), the Bhagavan enjoyed the food, for that reason, not for prosperity. Then with the assembly of Hearers, the Tathagata enjoyed the food, and spoke the Dharma to Skul-byed (Sanskrit: Preraka, Encourager), went to the city with Kusha. Like that, crossing the river named Wealth, with Skul-byed (Sanskrit: Preraka, Encourager), in that city, the peaceful one, approached the forest with the lotus grove. Having the light like gold, after bathing the one with gold, he said to Ananda, to the one without joy, with the joy of the world, he taught the way. Ananda, the garden of the Lord of Death

In the center, arrange my bed. Today, in the late part of the night, The Thus-Gone One will pass into Nirvana. Having heard these words, Ananda, With eyes filled with tears, Prepared the sleeping couch of the Sage. Having prepared it, he praised and sang. Thereafter, the sleeping couch was arranged, The best of bipeds arrived. Because there would be no more awakening, And because all suffering was exhausted. He lay on his right side, With his head resting on his hand, Foot placed upon foot, The disciples attended him in front as he slept. Then, for a moment there, The birds did not sing, The bodies, still and peaceful, Remained absorbed in meditation. At that time, from the trembling leaves, The winds did not stir, Like tears from the trees, The faded, unsightly flowers scattered. The sun set on the western mountain, Like travelers returning home. As the Sage gazed upon the bed, those who saw the ultimate truth quickly arrived. Then, on the final sleeping couch, As the All-Knowing One slept, To Ananda, distraught with tears, He spoke with loving kindness: "When I pass into Nirvana, Tell the strong ones, Ananda. If they do not see the passing into Nirvana, They will grieve for me later." Then, holding the words tightly, Ananda, overwhelmed with tears, Told the strong ones About the Sage's final sleeping couch. Then, upon hearing the words of Ananda, those with eyes raining tears wept. Like a herd fleeing from the fear of a lion from the mountains, those who were not stable and were oppressed came out of the city. Without attachment, their clothes were loosened and scattered, Their crowns swayed as they moved about. Like those dwelling in the heavens whose merit was exhausted, those who came in distress went to that forest. Those who came in this way saw the Sage, Having seen him, those with tears prostrated, Having prostrated, their hearts remained filled with grief, The Sage spoke to them: "It is not fitting to grieve in a time of joy, Do not abandon the unsurpassed teachings due to unhappiness. Whatever my wish has been for many eons, Is something extremely difficult to find."
