Not having finished, they started acting to harm him. Then on Vulture Peak Mountain, a stone wheel was made. Whatever was thrown at the Thubpa (Shakyamuni), it was not a fall, but became two. In the season of the world, the blue clouds make a sound, Preventing the moon is like the wind in the sky, Likewise, for the Tathagata (Buddha), appearing face to face, The elephant king was directed onto the king's road. Pushing with the body, the best limbs were taken, Piercing with the tusks, the network of intestines was thoroughly spread out, The corpses made the roads of Rajagriha, Difficult to pass, and completely entered. The flesh, due to desire, was stained on the thighs of men, The tips of the tusks touched and shook the string of intestines, The head, soaked in blood, with a strong nose and tongue, For the purpose of throwing, it was thrown upwards like stones. The three kinds of very joyful wine were fragrant with pollen, Those contaminated by the smell of rotten blood and fat, At that time, circling around, possessing infinite anger, Made the people of the city fearful with sorrow. The two-drinking drunkard, as terrible as the club of death, Distorted his face with arrogance, making a sound, Seeing that one with eyes turned upside down with anger, Making a "Ha! Ha!" sound, came out of Rajagriha. Some, uncomfortable, fled in all directions, Others disappeared into places that were not high, Likewise, not grasping fear other than fear, Others entered the homes of others. Some made the sound of a completely still lion's roar, Not truly considering their own lives, In order not to obviously harm the Buddha, Holding on tightly, they called out from behind to that two-drinking one. Likewise, others called out to the elephant trainer, Others greeted him with palms together. After that, Others threatened him, Some coveted wealth and desired it. Looking out from the airy windows, The young women waved their arms, emitting smoke, Other frightened women, possessing gold bracelets, Covered their eyes with copper-colored hands. Completely tasting, when the elephant wanted to destroy, Upwards

Even if there are many people raising their arms, The Sugata has no distinction, no harm, The Bliss-gone departs, abiding in its own place, without change. With loving-kindness, compassionating all beings, With reverence, the gods also follow, Even the elephant king of Indra touches it. Because there is no ability, the Sage departs steadfastly. Because there is a monk who follows the Buddha, He saw the elephant from afar and fled. Possessing various natures, like the nature of the world, Ananda alone followed the Buddha. Then, the angry elephant approached, From the power of the Sage, he gained clear consciousness, Like destroying the eye-medicine mountain with a vajra, The body shattered, and the head fell downward. At that time, the extremely beautiful, soft one born from the lotus, With the beautiful web-fingered hand, caressed the head, Like the moon illuminating the clouds with light, The Sage touched the king of the two-drinkers. Like the seasonal rain descending from the burden of water, The two-drinker sat at the base of the feet. The Sage looked at the unwavering Tala tree of the ears, And showed it the peace that should not be. Accompanied by innocence, completely destroying suffering, Do not harm the innocent one, elephant, do not cause harm. Life after life, beings destroyed by innocence, The elephant will not transform into the eight good realms. Desire, hatred, and ignorance, These three elephants are intolerable wine. The Sage is separated from these three wines, Without disease, he attained Nirvana. Therefore, wanting darkness, abandon this desire, Abandon wine and attain self-nature consciousness. The mire of the ocean of samsara is expanding, Do not fall again like the king of the two-drinkers. Then, the elephant heard these words, Abandoned wine and went to correct enlightenment, Like drinking nectar and being freed from diseases, He attained the supreme bliss of entering within. Like a disciple, immediately and completely devoted to the Sage, Seeing the elephant king who had completely abandoned wine, Some circled the Dharma, and some shook.
