The land of the temple was known completely and individually, Possessing splendor, being flat, beautiful, pleasing, and abundant with trees. There, he saw the garden owned by the king. Then, for this matter, he requested the king, But he did not give it to him due to attachment. Even if you were to spread wealth all over, I will not give away the land, he said. Then, there, Sudatta said to him: I want to know the value of that garden. Then, he covered the land entirely with wealth, Witnessed the name of Dharma, and purchased it. Seeing his generosity, the king, Developed supreme joy towards the Buddha. The remaining part of that forest, Was entirely offered to the Tathagata. Then, Anathapindika, as a great sage, For the purpose of the near king certainly having to see, With swift wisdom and a mind of detachment and liberation, Commissioned the construction of a beautiful temple with supreme virtue. Like the abode of the lord of wealth himself being moved, Like the happiness of the houses of the northern Kosala, Like the foundation of the Tathagata himself being the same, It was also a display of one's own wealth and power. In the great poem called "Buddha's Deeds," the eighteenth chapter, which narrates about Anathapindika. Then, the capable one with various different wisdoms, Having subdued everything with omniscient wisdom, From ten and a half hundred mountains and cities in order, He went to the city served by King Bimba. Then, when there were about a thousand tamed disciples, He went, and thus obtained his father's kingdom. Then, wanting to take him as a follower, He approached the border of his own city. Then, the leader and the wise ministers, Those noble ones who spread joyful tales, The perfectly enlightened noble one, Informed and requested the earth-protecting king. Then, the earth-protector, hearing the news of his arrival, With a heart full of joy, wanting to see him, Made all the citizens follow, Abandoning steadiness due to haste, went to greet him.

Gone. Like Brahma residing in the center of the virtuous, Surrounded by disciples, gazing from afar. Following the teachings of the great ascetic, Abandoning the chariot, approaching on foot. Quickly and completely arriving near him, Seeing the capable one, yet he spoke not a word. To call him son, It is not possible. Likewise, to call him a monk, it is not possible. Then seeing his monastic attire, Contemplating the various glories that have passed, Sighing deeply, tears falling like rain, Strongly falling into darkness, repeatedly lamenting. The traveler on the road, appearing weary, Like seeing a dried-up pond from afar. Separated from his own state, dwelling nearby, Seeing my pitiable one, becoming supremely powerful. When the mind dwelling at the end of the world sinks, Like a painful expression drawn on a picture. When seeing that form, in my heart, There is no joy, joy has passed. The entire earth surrounded by mountains, Like in the beginning, milk arising from me. He who should not beg from kings, My he, lives by begging from others. This heart of the snow mountain, surpassing Mount Meru, Brighter than the sun, more beautiful than the moon. Stride surpassing the elephant, voice surpassing the king of cows, He eats by begging, the land is not complete. Then moved by the thought of a son, The king fully knowing this thought. Also cherishing the remaining things of the world, For him, the Buddha flew in the sky. Touching the sun's chariot with his hand, Walking with feet on the path served by the wind, The body becoming one at times, becoming many at times, Many at times becoming one. Entering like water into the earth, without obstruction, Acting like walking on the surface of water, Directly passing through fences and mountains, Without obstruction, like entering the sky. The body's actions, raining down water, Half becoming ablaze like fire, After the mountains burn, burning even more fiercely.
