The lord of those endowed with miraculous powers, these two of my excellent disciples have come here. Then, with profound and firm words of peace, the Able One spoke these words to the two of them: "Monks, in order to manifestly approach tranquility here, may you truly attain this Dharma as it is!" The two born with three staffs in hand and hair tufts on their heads, the Thus-Gone One spoke these words to the two of them: By the power of the Buddha, they instantly transformed into monks clad in ochre robes. The two of them, with that attire including the assembly of disciples, worshipped the All-Knowing One with their heads. Then, the Buddha spoke the Dharma to the two of them, and in time, the two of them attained definite excellence. Then, the two lamps of the lineage of Light-Protector, having abandoned beauty, form, wealth, and intimacy, as well as miraculous powers and virtuous women possessing self, took up the ochre robe and departed for liberation. The woman named Bumang, with a beautiful complexion, shining like a golden stupa, certainly saw the stupa, abandoned all things, and with wonder, approached the All-Knowing One with palms joined. From afar, she bowed to the Able One with her head, and after bowing, she earnestly requested as it is: "I am a disciple, the Blessed One is my teacher, you have become my lamp illuminating the darkness." Having known that the two twice-born ones, thirsty, had come near, for them, who had pure thoughts and desired liberation, he fully satisfied their minds with the water of speech, the Thus-Gone One bestowed the word "Welcome!" With these words, fatigue was completely relieved, and they remained in order to certainly understand well. Then, for this one with a pure nature, full of compassion, the Able One spoke the Dharma in brief. Because the Able One spoke the Dharma only in subtlety, they truly attained all the meaning, therefore, from the two possessing correct view and seniority, the Arhat Light-Protector was named Great Light-Protector. Whoever apprehends as self or belonging to self, other than the body or even in the body, he has certainly abandoned that view of self, which is fleeting.

He saw that this is suffering, Whatever is purified by vows and asceticism, Without cause and from cause, he understood it, Suffering itself and the path, having truly attained, He did not hold vows and asceticism as supreme. Those who have gone astray, Have not circled before, nor have they attained the supreme. If the positions of the four noble truths are seen, Then they become doubt and hesitation, and become true offerings. In whatever desires, the truly greedy, Fainting and about to faint, worldly people, He knows that impurity is not true, having known them, He has abandoned the object of knowledge of desire. Likewise, with a loving heart, He has no distinction between friends and non-friends, By doing loving-kindness towards all beings, He has abandoned the harmful mind that has become a disease. Those who rely on form and those who rely on cities, Having abandoned the perceptions that possess variousness, He has completely destroyed attachment to the realm of form, Having understood the faults of entering into form. From ignorance, in meditative absorptions, there is a thought of liberation, Having understood the formless gods as creators, Having taken hold of the peaceful and signless mind, He has gone away from attachment and separated from desire for the formless. Like the great force of the Sindhu River, Having known the mind's movement and action, Having abandoned agitation from the stable support, He abides like a peaceful and full pool. Because there is no essence, and because of the nature of establishment, Because of selflessness, having truly seen all things, Seeing the excellent nature and equality and supreme nature, Having abandoned pride, he understands that it is non-existent. Having destroyed the darkness of ignorance with the fire of wisdom, He sees various things as finite and infinite. The yogi has fully cultivated awareness, Thus, he has abandoned all ignorance as it is. By combining seeing and meditating, These ten have been completely liberated by all, With palms joined, as if looking at the Buddha, All deeds have been done, abiding in self-nature.
