Adorned with various garlands. Others, with compassion and wavering, For those who have fallen into suffering, Follow in the footsteps of the viewers. For those who have fallen into desire, Beating their chests with their hands, Distressed as if a great conflict has occurred, Shown by the hosts of goddesses. Alas, various chariots have sunk, Alas, where is the suffering? The distressed repeatedly say, Those dwelling in the heavens have fallen to the earth. By what has been obtained through many deeds, The high realms are unstable and wavering, The suffering caused by separation is, Where can such suffering be obtained? Alas, more special than driving away, Is the Dharma nature of creating the world. Even after obtaining freedom from desire, Others will surely fall from the heavens. This is eternally abiding, Those with steadfast minds say, The nature of this world, Has never been seen like this. In the hells, suffering is intense, In the animal realm, they devour each other, The suffering of hunger and thirst in the pretas, For humans, it is the suffering of seeking. In the heavens, there is no suffering, The suffering of generating joy is most excellent, Surrounded by the living world of samsara, Where can one ascertain peace? The river of samsara has no support, This is surrounded by death, Only temporarily surrounded, Beings have not obtained a place of rest. Therefore, with his divine eye, He saw the five realms of beings, Like splitting a tree in water, In conditioned existence, no essence was found. Then, in the third watch of his night, When it was near, The nature of this world, Was meditated upon with contemplation and supreme wisdom. Alas, how toiling is the world, Again and again, birth, Decay and death, Transference and rebirth itself. Or greater than this great suffering, Obscured by the blindness of attachment, From the narrow eye of birth, The destination outside is not known. Having thought thus, His mind became wise, Where can one be certain? Old age and death became manifest. Having meditated on that from the place of birth, He thereby manifested enlightenment. Old age and death, Are perfected because there is birth. If there is a head, One sees the arising of diseases of the head, If there is growth of a tree, There will be fall

Will become. Then its re-transformation, Where does this birth occur again? Then from karma and existence it arises, Is the accurate knowledge of birth. He, with divine eyes, Knows that one enters from karma, Not from Ishvara, not from nature, Not self-made, not without cause. Like a flute arising from wisdom, When the first joint is cut, Everything proceeds swiftly as in a ritual, Such is the order of wisdom. Then, in order to know the birth of existence, The capable one acts with wisdom. Then knows that the birth of that existence, Arises from clinging. With holding vows, asceticism as supreme, And desires, egoistic views, etc., Like fire arising from firewood, With this one clings to karma. From what cause does one cling? Then is its transformation, Then is the condition for clinging, He knows it is craving. Like a small fire causing a forest fire, Fanned by the wind and arising, Likewise, vast afflictions such as desire, Are caused by craving. Then he contemplates, From what does craving arise? It is said that craving arises from the condition of feeling, Then he determines thus. Beings oppressed by feeling, Counteract and generate craving, If there is no thirst, for water, Some will show delight. Then again, of feeling, What is the place of birth, he contemplates? Feeling is the terminator of feeling, Knows that it is caused by contact. The aggregation of object, sense, and mind, Is called contact, Like fire arising from rubbing wood, From where does feeling arise? Then it is said that contact is the cause, He contemplates thus. Then are the six sense bases, He knows that it is the cause, A blind person cannot see form, The eye cannot combine with consciousness, If there is an eye, it can combine, Therefore, if there is a sense organ, there is contact. Then, in order to know the birth of the six sense bases, He acts with wisdom. Then its cause is name and form, With skill in the cause, he knows. Like from the existence of a root, One remembers leaves and trunk arising, Likewise, if there is name and form, The six sense bases will transform. What is the cause of name and form? Its, then transformation, then, Its birth is consciousness.
