Those with strength also become weak, Those transformed into elephants are also tamed, With iron hooks, the heads of afflictions, Are bound by the heels of the feet. Through mutual contention and, Being under the power of others, Although suffering exists for others, For whom is suffering particularly superior? When they meet each other, Those without shelter by those with shelter, and Those dwelling in water by those dwelling in water, and Those dwelling in cities are destroyed by those dwelling in cities. Those whose minds are oppressed by miserliness, Are invisible in the world of pretas, These beings born in this way, Enjoy the fruits of hunger. With mouths like the eye of a needle, and Stomachs like mountains, By the suffering caused by hunger and thirst, Those destined for suffering are tormented. If a person knows That the fruit of miserliness is like this, Then even the parts of the body, Are completely given away as if pacified. Held by their own actions, and Those who are extremely oppressed by craving, Even the abandoned impure things, Cannot be enjoyed by this. This is like another hell, In the past, in the impure fluid of the womb, Those born nearby, in the human realm, The beings who walk obtain suffering. Even when they are just born, Those held by sharp hands, As if cut by swords, Where do they weep with compassion? With love, protection, and care, The relatives and family strive to nurture, From suffering, suffering increases again, Each is afflicted by their own actions. This action and this action, Where is it especially? Children full of desire, Experience it continuously. These other meritorious actions, Those born in the heavens, The fire of desire intensely, Burns like fire. Those who are never satisfied with objects, Where do these lose their splendor? The old and worn-out ropes, Those who look upwards fall down. Where the goddesses, For the pitiful and powerless who fall, For those who look with loving hearts, Hold their garments with their hands. As one falls to the ground, With bodies bent and necklaces swaying, The pitiful ones from immeasurable palaces, Fall as if with compassion.
