Because wanting supreme bravery, therefore abandoned excessive behavior. After that, having obtained that place, having determined the intention to do good, any victorious sage, approached the place called city. Then, beside the Nairanjana River, pure and clean, surpassing others, the capable one, desiring a solitary place, made his abode there. Then, he previously relied on that, filled with the power of the five senses, possessing the ascetic practice of being approached by darkness, he saw the five monks. Accomplished by merit, wealth without disease, like the lord with the meanings of the senses, those monks also, having seen him here, stayed nearby. By his power, the disciples of the place, due to the movement of the senses, at will, greatly revered and served them, and followed the subdued. For the one who ends death and birth, then by this method, knowing there is no food, he began the torments of asceticism. He performed many fasting rituals, doing things difficult for people to do, wanting to obtain the task, for six years, he recognized his own body. Certainly wanting to obtain the other shore of endless samsara, at the time of eating, he ate one sesame seed and grain, and the best meat each time. Due to the torment of asceticism, his body, became emaciated, however, his splendor, caused his body to gradually increase. Like the moon on the first day of the autumn white part, shining on the lotuses. Although emaciated, his splendor and fame did not diminish, satisfying the eyes of others. Apart from bones and skin, there was nothing left, although fat, flesh, and blood were exhausted, the profoundness was not exhausted, he was beautiful like the ocean. Then, because he wanted to become a Buddha, he eliminated meaningless fatigue and torment. The capable one, with a body of afflictions, made the mind fear existence. This Dharma is not for detachment, nor for realization, nor for liberation. At that time, at the root of Jambudvipa, I heard and determined. Because this cannot be obtained by the weak, he came respectfully, in order to increase the power of the body, he thought about this again. Tormented by hunger and thirst, with a mind without its own place due to fatigue, what irreversible fruit can the fruit to be obtained by the mind obtain? Always

After the senses are satisfied, one attains true abiding; because the senses are truly satisfied, the mind attains its natural abiding. With tamed, extremely tamed mind, meditation gradually arises; with meditation, the mind is subdued, and one enters into contemplative practice. From contemplative practice, one obtains the rare, peaceful, and supreme joy; one obtains the deathless state of all dharmas, which is fully attained by whomever obtains it. Therefore, food is the root; this is the definite understanding of the means. Relying on the practice of eating, after making wisdom with immeasurable wisdom, having bathed on the bank of the Nairanjana River, the trees on the bank of the Hand-Giving River, bowing respectfully at the tip of the branches, slowly lifting the emaciated body. Then, at the urging of the gods, the daughter of the cowherd, whose heart was filled with joy, the Joyful Power Mother came there. With hands shining like white conch shells, a woman wearing a blue skirt, with bubbles and a garland of blue water, like the supreme water of the Yamuna River. Eyes like fully blooming lotuses, that joyful mother, increasing with faith, bowed her head to him and offered milk. Having offered it to him, after obtaining the fruit of life, the six senses were truly satisfied, and he was able to attain enlightenment. Possessing a supreme and vast body, the capable one with his own fame, with the two oceans of ability, he alone holds beauty and dharma. I am certainly liberated, like the five aggregates with wisdom, after knowing from all entrances, the five monks abandoned him. Then, the second effort, determined for enlightenment, on the ground spread with soft grass, he went to the root of the Ashvattha tree. At that time, awakened by the sound of unparalleled footsteps, possessing the gait of an elephant king, the Great Sage, realized by enlightenment, the accomplished master Black One praised and said. Thus, Sage, as you tread with your feet, again and again the earth seems to make a sound. Thus, your light appears like the sun, you have truly known the desired state. Thus, garlands of celestial treasures encircle in the sky, you with lotus eyes are circumambulating. Thus, the winds in the sky are still, you
