To the Lord of Qualities, it is said thus: Birth and old age, sickness and death, these are manifest and should be known. Conversely, they are not manifest. Ignorance, action, and existence, the causes of samsara should be known. The beings who dwell in these three places, their strength of mind does not perish. From wrong views and self-grasping, from doubt and arrogance, from non-differentiation and non-skillful means, from attachment and manifest downfall. Among these, what is called wrong view is to engage in what is contrary. Thinking about what should be done, one thinks about something else. Doing what should be done, one does something else. Speaking and knowing, going is me, staying is me, thus this is self-grasping, the engagement of non-self-grasping. Whoever sees things without doubt, by becoming one, like a ball of clay without doubt, this is called doubt here. Whoever thinks, "I am that, that is this," is it mind, intellect, or action? Whoever draws that, "That is me," whoever does that is arrogance. The distinction between what is greatly increased and what is not greatly increased, the knowledge of distinction without distinction, whatever is known by the natures, that is remembered as non-differentiation. Prostrations and not diminishing the base, incense offerings and manifest scattering, etc., non-skillful means, the knowledgeable should fully understand skillful means. To objects that do not give rise to attachment, through mind, speech, intellect, and actions, with what evil wisdom does one generate attachment? That is remembered as manifest attachment. "This is mine" and "This is me," whoever thinks of suffering as manifest, whoever knows to fall into samsara, thus the wise-born ignorance, well obtains five states: darkness, delusion, great delusion, and what arises from darkness are two. Among these, darkness is laziness, delusion should be understood as birth and death, great delusion is called desire, one should know without delusion in all ways. Why is it that here all beings, even the great, are greatly deluded? Therefore, these great mudras are remembered as great delusion. What arises from darkness is anger, it increases especially for those without anger. Ignorance, what arises from darkness, is well explained as sorrow, for those without sorrow. This ignorance, this child, possesses five states, and falls into births that are suffering in samsara. The seer, the hearer, the knower.

Actions and the very nature of cause, now, having come about in this way, cause complete turning in samsara. The wise, with these causes, thoroughly engage in the continuum of birth. From the absence of cause, there is no result; thus, it is appropriate to know. Therein, the continuum greatly increases, clarity and non-clarity itself; like those who desire liberation, discern the true conduct. These four, just as they are, cause the attainment of the unchanging state. Therefore, in the world, Brahma, those who speak of the supreme Brahma, here practicing the conduct of Brahma, the Brahmas abide. The immovable son, having heard these words of the capable one, remembers the ultimate state and the means of manifestation. How, when, and where is this conduct of Brahma practiced, and how is it ultimately achieved by this Dharma? You should explain it distinctly. Thus, as the capable one taught in the scriptures, summarizing the meaning with utmost clarity, through the distinctions of other rituals, that Dharma is spoken of in that way. With this, first abandoning home, relying on the signs of a beggar, with activities greatly increasing, one takes vows and enters. Possessing action, the undisputed teachings, abiding in supreme contentment, whoever and wherever, relies on solitary places. Then, seeing the fear in attachment, and the supreme peace in non-attachment, firmly holding the city of the senses, one strives for peace in the mind. Then, from all desires and from harmful thoughts, etc., being completely solitary, possessing the first dhyana with investigation, one obtains birth from solitude. Having obtained that bliss of dhyana, investigating that and that itself, by obtaining unprecedented bliss, one steals the life of children. By completely condemning desire and hatred, with such a peaceful ritual, one obtains the world of Brahma, abiding in complete satisfaction. Those who cultivate the mind with investigation, having skillfully understood, are completely liberated from that, obtaining the bliss of joy in dhyana. Whoever does not see the distinctions, and is stolen by that joy, in the gods of clear light, obtains the place of clear light. Whoever makes the mind completely solitary from the bliss of joy, the bliss of joy
