Those without remainder utter words of determination. Recitation is completed, and generosity and fire offerings are made auspiciously. The protector of men also departs from whatever place. The sound of the vajra is born like an elephant. That wretched sound shatters and shakes everything. Having seen both desire and the one with praise, and having truly heard reliance on the son's certainty, like a victory banner that has captured the spectacle of the lord of ease and so on, the lord of the earth, shattered by sorrow, falls to the ground. Then, bewildered by the prince's sorrow for a moment, he is supported by beings who manifest the equality of beings. With eyes filled with water, he quickly looks around. From the side of the earth, the protector of the land utters words of cursing. At the time of battle, after making many great rejoicings, you, the one with praise, have made my joy not to be. My joy, the joy of merit, by what means has it, though it is joy, been thrown into the forest as if without joy? Therefore, take me to where that one has gone. Or may that one quickly bring me back again. Just as one is separated from the medicine for a serious illness, so too, because of separation from that one, my life does not exist. When the prince Golden Flow is seized by death, from what asceticism has the truly victorious one not died? When my Dharma-holding son has passed away, I myself, desiring liberation, have become like one without self. The lord of beings, the pervasive one who has done ten things for the royal lineage, the son of the sun who knows the excellent and the non-excellent, the son is pitiable and separated from supreme suffering. What is the origin of the mental bewilderment that has made me unhappy? The wise son of King Aja, the friend of the lord of men, is my desire. The prince has gone into the forest, and someone has gone into the realm of the gods. Tears are not meaningful; they are adorned with stinginess. You too, where is that handful of water of mine? Please kindly tell me the place of asceticism where it was taken away. There, my thirst completely desires. My life desires to go to the place of the hungry ghosts. Thus, the suffering of separation from the son is born. The innate stability, like the earth, is completely abandoned. Like the sorrow of Rama, like the ten chariots, the protector of men is scattered in many ways, as if without consciousness. Then, he is endowed with learning, discipline, and qualities.

The aged chamberlain and the wise minister, Spoke of this meditation as it was. It is not a face of complete grief, nor is it without sorrow, The best of men, the steadfast one, has departed steadfastly, abandoning sorrow. It is not appropriate to shed tears as if in sorrow, Having abandoned the perfections like an old garland, Many rulers on earth have deeply entered the forest. Furthermore, This determination of his, in the past, Please remember the words of the one named Righteous. Even in the heavens, for the kingdom of a Chakravartin, Not even for a moment can one abide there with ease. If that best of men has made an effort, Please quickly grant the command, and we shall go there. May your son of all kinds, Find the battle of all kinds there. Then, the lord of men instructed those two, Therefore, you two must depart from here. Like a forest bird particularly attached to its young, My heart has not greatly rejoiced. The minister and the chamberlain, having received instruction from the lord of men, Went to that forest. It is said that the ruler, along with the ancient people and the consorts, Also completed the remaining tasks. In the great poem called "The Deeds of the Buddha," the eighth chapter is the chapter of the lamentations of the retinue of consorts. Then, at that time, the chamberlain and the minister, Were struck by the whip of the ruler's tears, Like a sacred horse in a cave, from all efforts, With good intentions, they quickly went to that forest. Those two similar followers, having become weary, Having approached that ascetic forest in due time, Having abandoned the king's magic power, with tamed behavior, They approached the dwelling of the righteous and wise son. They duly honored that Brahmin, And he also honored them in a corresponding manner. Having cut off attachment to the seats, They spoke words to the wise son seated on the seat. Possessing pure radiance and vast fame, The king, born into the Ikshvaku lineage, For the one who is well-versed in the Shruka Sutra and holds all the secret mantras, Please recognize this black populace.
