May the tree of life flourish! Prapta tvam abhyasa na shamanam tat prasadena shastur yasmin darsam dadhati na punah shochana lochana ni. (Sanskrit, IAST: prapta tvam abhyāsa na śamanaṃ tat prasādena śāstur yasmin darśam dadhāti na punaḥ śocanā locanā ni, Meaning: Having attained, through practice, the pacification; by the grace of the teacher, in whom vision is placed, there is no further lamentation or looking.) Iti dhyatva sa sattvadhis tasthau shaila iba achala. (Sanskrit, IAST: iti dhyātvā sa sattvādhīs tasthau śaila iva acala, Meaning: Thus contemplating, that lord of beings stood like an immovable mountain.) Nibaddha vadha malam kas chauraih krodhodyatayudhaih. (Sanskrit, IAST: nibaddha vadha mālāṃ kas chauraiḥ krodhodyatāyudhaiḥ, Meaning: Bound with a garland of death, by thieves with weapons raised in anger.) Where sorrow does not again hold tears in the eyes, Having attained that place where the four afflictions are extinguished by the kindness of the teacher. Thus thinking, that ocean of courage, Remained unmoving like a mountain. The robbers, having taken up weapons in anger, Tied a garland of flowers as a sign of killing. Tatasya apahrite vastre gatrat kanchana vatsa sah. (Sanskrit, IAST: tatasya apahṛte vastre gātrāt kāñcana vatsa saḥ, Meaning: Then, his clothes having been taken away, from his body, a golden calf with him.) Anyad anyad bhutva vastrais cha rashih puro bhavat. (Sanskrit, IAST: anyad anyad bhūtvā vastrais ca rāśiḥ puro bhavat, Meaning: Becoming different and different, with clothes, a heap appeared in front.) On the crown of the head with the sound of honey, A rain of flowers fell from the sky. Then, that one who travels in the sky, Was seen by the robbers. By the touch of his power, They went to him for refuge. Then, descending for the sake of patience, At the feet, nyasta mastakan. (Sanskrit, IAST: nyasta mastakān, Meaning: Having placed their heads.) Dharme rasa dhvamsam tyajya duhkritani ity avaca tanr. (Sanskrit, IAST: dharme rasa dhvaṃsaṃ tyajya duḥkṛtāni ity āvāca tānr, Meaning: In dharma, destroy attachment, abandon misdeeds, thus he spoke to them.) Atas te jata vairagyah pravrajyam vrijinodhitam. (Sanskrit, IAST: atas te jāta vairāgyaḥ pravrajyaṃ vrijinodhitam, Meaning: Therefore, they generated detachment, renunciation, free from sin.) Adhayarhatpadam prayuh sampara shrava shantaye. Tatas tair sahito nyarharbhis tais cha karbata pasibhih. (Sanskrit, IAST: tatas tair sahito nyarharbhis tais ca karbaṭa pāśibhiḥ, Meaning: Then, together with them, the Arhats and those who dwell in caves.) Head bowed to those, Abandon faults and with Dharma, Rejoice, thus he spoke. Then, those ones were born detached, Having abandoned sins, of samsara, For the sake of pacifying the bonds, renunciation, Having taken, attained the state of Arhat.
