A king named Moon began searching everywhere. The king used an army of four hundred thousand to search for that caravan leader. Even if one were to give an ounce of sandalwood, it would be difficult to find on the ground. The caravan leader himself appeared. Merely remembering brings benefit. The caravan leader applied sandalwood to the body of the teacher. With necklaces and piles of snow, the coolness of the moon pales in comparison. Like fame, the white sandalwood allows the Victorious One to abide in peace. Through the power of that merit, auspicious and complete, all limbs emanate wonderful fragrance. His sandalwood and other treasures, no matter where they fell into the sea. All of those emerged from the well near his own home. The merchants distributed sandalwood and other items to each of them. With food, jewels, clothes, etc., they made offerings to the Sangha in their homes. Afterwards, the caravan leaders saw the extraordinary light and the splendor of the decorations. After seeing it, the attendant asked the king, whose merit is this? Then, the Bhagavan said to him with a smile.
