O father, who is devoted to the happiness of the household! You fulfill all hopes, Why do you despair? These are the words of the great Shakyamuni. Having heard this, the son of the lord of men, Spoke thus: The bonds of relatives and friends, Are iron chains of attachment. This body, which delights in the happiness of a false household, Will ultimately perish. Priyaḥ (Sanskrit, beloved)! Viṣayo (Sanskrit, object of the senses) griviṣārttanāma mṛtāyatanaṃ vanaṃ (Sanskrit, afflicted by poison, a place called nectar, the forest). Hastākṛṣṭastri phaṇi phaṇabhṛnmastakanyastamṛtyuḥ kaṇṭhābaddhotkaṭa viṣalatopallavālola mālāḥ (Sanskrit, three snakes drawn by hand, death placed on the head of the snake-bearer, a garland of swaying leaves of a fierce poisonous vine bound to the throat). Dīptāṅgāraprakaragahavara (Sanskrit, a chasm filled with burning coals) will change. For those tormented by the poison of the world, The forest is the abode of nectar. In this cycle of worldly gatherings, one is recklessly delighted and filled with joy. Drawing three cobras by hand, placing the heads of the snakes on the head, placing death on the neck. The branches of the fierce poisonous vine, ṇaṃgāhate durggaṃ mārggaṃ saṃsāre sminviṣaya nicāyese pramodaḥ pramādī (Sanskrit, entering the difficult path, in this cycle of existence, delight and carelessness arise from the accumulation of objects of the senses). Ityudīkṣya vrajanvyoman bilakṣya nagaraṃ kṣaṇāt (Sanskrit, having said this, ascending into the sky, in an instant crossing the city). Bahirbhūtalāmābhyetya sa yayau vājinā javata (Sanskrit, arriving on the ground outside, he rode away on a swift horse). Mahātā śākya mukhyena bodhasatyasya thā bhūpateḥ (Sanskrit, the great leader of the Shakya clan, the Bodhisattva, the king of the land). Antaḥpure ca kāntānāmudbhuta karuṇaḥ svaraḥ (Sanskrit, in the inner palace, a sound of compassion arose from the beautiful women). Atha brahmendra dhanadapramukhaistridaśairbṛtaḥ (Sanskrit, then surrounded by Brahma, Indra, Dhanada, and other gods). Rājasūnurvanaṃ prāpagātvā dvādaśa yojanam (Sanskrit, the prince traveled twelve yojanas and reached the forest). Avaruhyātha turāgdī vimucyu bharaṇāni saḥ (Sanskrit, then dismounting from the horse, he removed his ornaments). Uvāca sūcitānandacchandakaṃ vadanatviṣā (Sanskrit, with a joyful expression, he spoke to Chandaka). Gṛhītvā bharaṇāni tvaṃ hayañca praja mandiram (Sanskrit, take the ornaments and the horse and return to the palace). Nedānīmasti me kṛtyametairmāyāni bandha de (Sanskrit, now I have no need for these illusory bonds)
