In the forest pervaded by asceticism, the Bodhisattva wished to begin accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, hearing various treatises, teaching the disciples, clarifying the abiding of the holy Dharma, possessing patience, being worthy of offerings, not abandoning pure white, abandoning all desires and the faults of poverty, at one time there was an ascetic. Destroying darkness and spreading happiness, the body adorned with four qualities of light, possessing majesty, able to obtain joy, like the moon being gazed upon by beings. My previous life was merit, and then abiding like equality, who can stop the steep place? Having compassion is the source of merit. That great being also wanted extremely peaceful happiness, so not far from the ascetic forest, at one end of the mountain decorated with lotus blossoms, he happily made a fence of leaves, and definitely entered into meditative practice. Because in the realm of the senses, he practices meditation alone. Therefore, in the non-dual forest, he lived more peacefully. The steadfastness of the ascetics, and relying on the meaning of the Dharma, the peace that cuts off ignorance, is talked about for the sake of Nirvana. 道路荒废，森林中盛行焚烧之法，驾驭焚烧之法的车辆飞驰，在飞扬的尘土中旋转，令人沮丧的草叶未能滋润所有树木的枝叶，渴望饮水的孔雀聚集，喉咙干渴。在那根和果实都已耗尽的寺庙里，苦行者们因苦行和饥饿而身体极度消瘦。他们渴望离开那片苦行之林，前往城镇等地，接近菩萨并说道：由于降雨停止，草或果实，山上的土地都已耗尽，名声也已消失。由于没有食物，我们无法维持生命。为了维持身体，我们必须进入人群之中。如果食物充足，身体就会强壮，如果身体强壮，就有修行的能力。通过修行，修行者才能获得成就。通过看见光明，他们才能舍弃对世界的执着。因此，给予饥荒的乞讨是卑微的，在村庄边缘或城镇中获得食物后，当世界因庄稼生长而充满喜悦时，我们再回到森林中安静的住所。通过获得禅定，像你们这样的贤者，村庄和山脉对你们来说并无区别。修行者的纯净修行会带来喜悦的增长，贫困和傲慢永远不会进入他们的心中。智慧宝藏，你的话语如同鲜花，不会被抛弃，为了和平而给予果实。远离伤害，安住在人群中，我们也渴望与您相遇。菩萨说道：对于那些调伏的人来说，居住在人群中有很多缺点，因为他们会吸引男人的心，用温柔的微笑照亮，用大地的珍宝之光装饰脸庞，擅长用外向的目光卖弄风情，沉重的女性器官的负担使她们无法行走，仿佛在表演舞蹈，成熟的树木只需向上攀爬就能弯曲。

The roads are deserted, the practice of burning is rampant in the forests, the vehicles that carry out the burning rush about, swirling in the midst of the rising dust, the depressing blades of grass fail to nourish the foliage of all the trees, peacocks gather, longing to drink where the water has not yet appeared, their throats parched. In that monastery where roots and fruits are all exhausted, those ascetics, with bodies exceedingly emaciated by asceticism and hunger, desire to go forth from that ascetic forest to towns and the like, and having approached the Bodhisattva, they spoke thus: Because the rain has ceased, this grass or fruit, the mountains and land are exhausted, and even the fame of it has ceased. Since there is none, we have no means to sustain our lives. To remain in our bodies, we must go among the people. If there is food, the body will grow and thrive, if there is growth, there is the power of yoga. By practicing yoga, the yogi attains that very state. By seeing the light, they abandon attachment to the world. Therefore, giving alms in a time of famine is demeaning, having obtained food at the edge of a village or in a town, when joy arises in this world from the growth of crops, we will return to the peaceful abode in the forest. By attaining meditation, for sages like you, the village and the mountains are no different. The pure yoga of yogis brings an increase of joy, poverty and pride never enter their minds. Treasure of wisdom, your words are like these flowers, they will not be abandoned, but will give fruit for peace. Dwelling among people, free from harm, we also desire to meet with you. The Bodhisattva said: For those who are disciplined, dwelling in a place of people has many faults, for they captivate the hearts of men, adorn their faces with the light of earth's jewels, made radiant by gentle smiles, skilled in coquettish glances, and burdened by the heavy weight of their feminine power, they are unable to walk, as if performing a dance, and ripe trees bend merely by climbing upwards.

There exist various forms of women, like the earth deity issuing commands for desire. They steal the essence of ascetics. In summary, it can be stated that wise individuals should not see women, nor should they speak of them outwardly. If one completely avoids speaking of seeing them, then even when speaking, one should have the perception of them as daughters and sisters. In this way, one will never be swayed by the many. Sharp arrows can pierce everything, but people do not crave sharp arrows; pleasing songs can steal the hearing and the heart. Sleep in solitude can steal people's minds with a sense of ease. Such a person will not ultimately suffer unbearable pain. Therefore, by avoiding the faults of women, observing the other faults of people, associating with many people, the opportunity to encounter the senses is difficult to obtain, focusing single-mindedly on savoring the taste of power, being indifferent to the benefit of others, following others and generating much fatigue, just with meager food, I can make you realize that I abide in the position of beings. Therefore, for a while, please partake of a little food in my dwelling. If you desire such food, then from now on, I will strive daily to sustain your lives. The Bodhisattva thought, 'Because of not speaking, I am liked by these who possess the wealth of asceticism,' and said: 'Please stay here for a moment, and I will go north to find unpleasant sounds and retrieve food.'
