Then, that king with a very joyful mind, had that peacock king sit on a throne suitable for a king, and then outside, sat even more respectfully on a seat. Then, the Bodhisattva spoke to the king in a gentle and profound voice: With the power of wisdom, conquer the powerful senses, and let seekers instantly combine purpose with fruit. Please abandon suffering and, as a ruler, protect this earth clothed in the ocean for a long time. The nature of Dharma, the bridges of Dharma, what have you increased? For the endless ocean of suffering, what will you aim for to cross over? Like grasping poisonous snakes, faults, strong views, etc., what do you consider to be the greatest harm, that would harm the country? With tamed retinues, family, and children, for this body like a treasure of fame, are you, kings, at peace? The king said: As long as there are no others as skilled in benefiting others as you, and no companions like you, O King of Peacocks, sentient beings will not be at peace. Clay drums make sounds like clouds, dancers adorn with lightning, you are the king of peacocks.
