The dense trees intertwined, concealing the view, and in the center of the rocks, cleansed by the seasonal waters flowing from the Malaya Mountains, resided a pair of Vidyadharas (knowledge-holders), male and female, who gazed upon the vast ocean. Two birds came to observe and saw that beneath the lush branches of the trees, closely connected to the trees, the parrots were there. On the wide waters covered with lotuses, at the edge of the shore, adorned with conch shells, a large bed was surrounded by cloth, and a pleasing fragrance was spread. The pomegranate juice was as red as carnelian, and waves of wine aroma arose. They poured wine into large golden vessels and sat there. Again, two birds descended from the tree, falling into the trap that was lured with delicious flavors, approached the bed, and tasted the wine. After drinking, they became intoxicated and lost their senses, unable to fly, and fell asleep there. Then, dressed in various splendid garments, lying in the center of the bed, with eyes slightly closed and peaceful faces. Those skilled bird catchers who came quickly, gradually realized and captured the two birds. For the peace of the country, connected with the mind, able to distinguish one's own benefit and harm, the cause of heavy suffering following one after another, will never happen like recklessness. Afterwards, those parrots gradually awoke from the intoxication of drinking wine and said to the two captured birds: "Fair-faced ones, for what purpose do you capture us? Please tell us." The captured birds also spoke those words. Then, one parrot said this: "Having caught these two parrots, you two stay here for a while. Until I bring back the essence of the medicinal juice called Sudha, which is the chief of all essences. He will use it to make ghee and offer it to the prince, and by drinking it, he will become very long-lived."
