Because the weak herd of cattle especially exists, possessing herds of cattle that are dry, extremely exhausted, and diminished, and at night it is difficult to pass through the darkness because there is no light, possessing poor people wearing dirty and old clothes, and the houses have become without splendor like a lotus grove destroyed by snow. Then, that group of people all came to the king and said: Striving and struggling for the benefit of beings, you are the ruler of the earth comparable to the hundred gods, these people are weakened by the fire of hunger, how do the weak limbs and the tree of life wither? At that time, those people were wearing dirty and old clothes, their light was rough, tormented by arrogance, and suffering greatly, seeing that the actions were completely reversed, O lord of the land, tears will flow from the eyes because of suffering. Then, that king fully understood that from this time onwards there would be a good harvest, so he took out all the rice from the warehouse, giving each of those people one portion of rice each day. The king himself clearly needed two portions of rice. When registering the number of people, the other Brahmins did not stay. He also heard about this matter a long time ago, so he came to the Bodhisattva and spoke this letter full of suffering: Because of being separated from one's own kinsmen and friends, without future wishes and fulfillment, and the faults of various declines, alas, the words of beings are truly too many. Overpowering the suffering of the teachings, for the sake of the great suffering of begging, being completely tormented by the long road, like climbing a high mountain in front. Showing suffering, how disheartened, people who have not obtained the fruit, the master bound by long-term actions, this is truly very painful. Being deluded by the house of hope for happiness, for the people who climb high, the sequence of painful steps, is constantly increasing in front. This is the suffering of the human body, having birth and death, even so, for the ignorant people.

May the perception of bliss enter. Ignorance harms the elephant of the mind. With the power of mindfulness, discard the iron hook. With the two tusks of the senses, quickly seize the cause of suffering. Even the peacock afflicted by the season of hail does not drink the water that is on the ground. To dwell on what is born in the sky with the rainy season is a person who relies on the suffering of special desires. If one dwells on one sense, then suffering will arise. Even one who is strong cannot bear a great burden alone. Thus, after contemplating the great suffering of following the path of the gods, I pervade myself in many forms, act myself, and dwell in all the senses. The king said: Great Brahmin, what is the use of repeatedly recounting your suffering in this way? Please quickly tell me what you need. The Brahmin said: Even what has not been asked for, the lord of the gods will give. To ask for a small amount of pure and abundant water, even so, impermanent things are taken away in an instant. Why is a person who seeks benefit naturally afraid? Although my heart is small and desires are few, because the things to be accomplished are not complete, I regret it, give respectfully, please grant me one vow. Then, the Bodhisattva thought in this way: Alas, the so-called great desire is the cause of all suffering. Even small desires make the necessary thoughts tired. For great desires, without effort, the mind is even more painful. Even fire, which has no burden, still climbs the earth with difficulty, what need is there to mention the heavy burden of a heavy tree placed on the shoulder? Then, after thinking, that king gave one of his two meals each day to that Brahmin. Having eaten that one meal, he immediately dwelt contentedly. Then, the ministers were amazed at that king and said: Alas, just eating one meal, the power and light of the body of the gods are diminishing.

That was the end. The king said, "Because contentment is praiseworthy here. Look at all of you. Contentment and discontentment, after knowing that they distinguish happiness and suffering, this person desires happiness, so he will not give up discontentment. Without giving up the craving for happiness, and the entry of attachment and so on, at the end of the ladder of suffering, who will go? If iron is struck with iron, it will also be destroyed. Even if the pillar is strong, it will be destroyed by the power of the two drinkers (referring to those who indulge in sensual pleasures). The teeth of the enemy of the gods can also fall in an instant. By what means can this tree of existence be cut down? The mantra of contentment makes the mind wide, enters into it, completely gets rid of the fear of the local snake, and lives happily. Relying on those wish-fulfilling trees that do not bear fruit, the two drinkers of the gods cannot exhaust their desires. The poor attendant will never bow his head, and will not leave even if the benefit sought is small. In front of the arrogant of wealth, he will not say, 'Master, please command.' The fire of the snake of the wicked person, jealousy will not weaken. The only living being who has obtained contentment has obtained the fruit of happiness. Therefore, those who want extreme happiness should be completely familiar with contentment." In this way, relying on the words of the Bodhisattva, "Aima, well said," those ministers returned to their homes. After that, the King of the Gods saw the hard work of that king and his focus on the practice of benefiting others, and so this happened. Aima, it's amazing! Because this king, given by Brahma, does not even consider the suffering of his own body, and strives every day for the benefit of sentient beings. Therefore, in order to understand his determination for a while, when the king was eating, he manifested as a Brahmin, holding a package of leaves, stood in front of him and said: In any case, those who are struck down by the power of poison, those who seek benefit, my suffering
