The swarm of bees intoxicated near the feet, the Dharma was spoken to those who desire the Dharma of peace. The eyes that bloom like lotus petals reside on the lotus, and are extremely attached to the beauty of the lotus birthplace. Is this a dream or an illusion? This fire, what is this? This is clearly a lotus. Thus, with wonder and a compassionate heart, seeing this, those people spoke. Those people saw, wanting to abide in the center of the lotus. In the instant that tears of joy truly welled up, it was like angrily pouring out tears of sorrow. Then, like fragrant flowers covered with pollen falling from the sky, the rows of bees followed closely, raining down flowers. The demon also, holding a bow made of flowers and a wheel in his hand, departed, filled with sorrow. Then, that Brahmin, like being in the midst of burning coals, with a face extremely hot from the scent of his own breath, grasping himself in various ways, spoke thus: In the deep holes of the earth, completely stretching out, seeing things burning like fire in front. Gradually, completely threatening me with extreme suffering, my body seems to be sinking into the earth. I have fallen into this terrible hell filled with fierce fire. You who desire the Dharma, please be my protector today. Those who desire the sublime, the great ones who benefit others, like you, have equanimity towards friends and enemies.
