A brief explanation of the order of the faults of alcohol is also one verse. Among them, the meaning of the collection of the seven verses on the subject of actions not increasing is as follows: The virtuous teacher, with a voice that benefits others, spoke in the Ornament of the Sutras about the faults of drinking alcohol. This is the meaning of the collection of these verses. As it is said: "Whatever is drunk causes the body to become turbid, steals memory, transgresses propriety, obscures intelligence, cuts off shame, diminishes mindfulness, corrupts lineage, generates anger, diminishes joy and supreme pleasure; whatever causes one to become intoxicated and lose memory when drunk, that is like living in death." Therefore, what is symbolized by the order of this verse is the meaning of the verses such as "Whoever drinks becomes intoxicated and muddled." "Body turbid," "stealing memory," and "transgressing propriety" are because these qualities are lost when one dies. Similarly, after drinking this alcohol, one becomes intoxicated and muddled, one's steps are uncontrollably unsteady, one wanders even in unfamiliar places, and there is fighting. This is what was previously referred to as "body turbid." "Loss of memory" indicates the meaning of "stealing memory" mentioned above. Without distinguishing between what is edible and inedible, one eats whatever one finds. This indicates what was previously referred to as "transgressing propriety." The meaning of the verse, with regard to what was previously referred to as "cutting off the law of shame," there are two verses: "What makes my mind powerless" and "After drinking, what abandons my proper shame?" The "law of shame" is also conscience. What was previously referred to as "making intelligence dull" is spoken with regard to shamelessness, that is, "What makes my mind powerless, intelligence diminished, and completely confused?" Because when one dies, there is no conscience in the mind, therefore it is said, "Makes my mind powerless, intelligence diminished, and completely confused." This is what was previously referred to as "making intelligence dull."

This shows that very action itself. Like livestock, foolish, and even if mocked by enemies, they will do it. Whoever dances at the gathering and beats the drum on their own mouth. These two phrases indicate the cutting off of shame. If one drinks due to cutting off the Dharma of shame, then who will abandon my shame? This is the verse. My shame is beauty. Regarding oneself and feeling ashamed is called my shame, that is, taking oneself as the master. Avoiding bad deeds, that is the meaning of this phrase. If one drinks, then this verse refers to what was previously stated about losing consciousness. Losing consciousness is what the phrase "without memory" means. If one drinks and becomes intoxicated, this verse refers to what was previously said about defiling the lineage. Just like being seduced by a woman and defiling the lineage. If one drinks and becomes intoxicated, losing memory, this verse refers to losing the supreme joy. Just like when fire appears. If one is attached to something, the lineage will become the basis of wealth. This verse refers to generating hatred. Because hatred cuts off the lineage. Suddenly, the six verses refer to: If one drinks, actions will decline, without shame, one will not practice the Dharma. Knowing meaningless quarrels, not possessing taming, being in contempt, not being beaten. Deluded by smoke, speaking and reciting, laughing and going mad, all merits will be taken away, who would drink what those who are cultured and have shame do not drink? This verse is the meaning of the summary. Among them, suddenly smoking and sitting down, this verse refers to contempt and so on. Even if one becomes old, whose mind will decline. This verse refers to not possessing taming. Because of whose fault, the former gods, this verse refers to the decline of actions. One will also speak untruths as if they were truths.

This verse of the word "earth" is about "not practicing Dharma" and "knowing emptiness is meaningless." Among them, the two verses "Speaking untruths as if they were true" and "Doing what should not be done with joy" explain "not practicing Dharma." The verse "Knowing existence and non-existence in reverse with what answer" explains what was previously said, "emptiness is meaningless." The verse "Intoxicated by knowledge mantras" is about what was previously said, "Striking in inappropriate places, indulging, seizing merits, drinking like a low-class person," etc. The verse "Why is the mind extremely diminished" is about what was said, "shamelessness." Here, "shamelessness" means not being afraid, meaning that one will fall into evil realms by committing the five inexpiable sins. The meaning of these two verses is taken from the Ornament of the Sutras. Because of the fear of being too lengthy, many irrelevant contents are not written here. The reason for the order of these is that, first, the body and essence are the foundation, so first it is explained that the body is made impure. After that, it is because memory is the main thing. After the body and memory decline, it is said according to the lineage that is in accordance with discipline. After that, having shame and knowing shame is because of protecting the world. After those two, it is the decline of consciousness. After that, the lineage is defiled, because it is the source of all beings' faults. Now it is said that "joy declines" and "hatred arises," because relatives and non-relatives are also the cause of mutual destruction. Thus, for the time being, the reason for the order of the seven verses has been explained. Now, the reason for the order of the six verses will be explained: Because of despising others, it is complete contempt, which is the cause of contempt. After that, it is not having taming. After that, it is the decline of behavior. After that, it is
