That which is small is the method of taking that is extremely small. "When a Brahmin declines, stealing is said to be Dharma." This verse shows that when a Brahmin declines, there is no fault in the decline of the Brahmin itself. If the Brahmins' wealth is their own, why not take it openly? To answer this question, the verse "Even if one can openly plunder wealth" was composed. Or, the brief meaning of this verse is, even if it can be taken openly, why not take it openly? Because stealing is sinful. Therefore, the verse "Even if one can openly plunder wealth" and so on was composed. One does not rejoice either, because it is naturally virtuous. The ritual shown is stealing. "Not rejoicing" means not striving and not taking possession. "Not returning" means not speaking again. "Thinking there is merit" means that whatever exists is thinking there is merit. "Cannot strive?" means being separated from one's own effort, which means lacking courage. "I decline" is unbearable for this matter, so it is unbearable for my decline. "People's path of the hero" is the path of the hero. "Separated from joy" is without joy and lazy, therefore it is foolish. Or, there is no joy in this matter. One who has no joy is foolish, therefore one is without joy and foolish. "Widely proclaimed" is to many people. "Not concealed, vast" means this is not secret and vast. What is shown is the meaning for everything. Words and tones, etc., are also the suffering of these three causes is widely proclaimed, because it shows extreme difficulty, so it is also very great suffering. One who is separated from diligence is one who is not diligent. One who is not diligent is also steadfast, therefore one is not diligent and steadfast. The mind that is not diligent and steadfast is not diligent and steadfast. Thus, as usual, it means how one is cruel at the time of hearing suffering.

That is the meaning. Being separated from loving-kindness is being unloving. Being both unloving and hard, it is unloving and hard. Whatever is unloving and hard is unloving and hard itself, because it exists. Like this, what was shown above, that unstrict, unstable mind, and the state of abiding as usual, those are the meaning of such. The order shown by the abbot is, "Do not take what you have not seen of others' wealth," that is its order. When doing sinful deeds, this verse shows that what I do not know is the object of the divine eye. "Training oneself, the eye of the gods," this shows the nature of the divine eye of the nature of clairvoyance. "Faults seen by others, and what I see myself," this is from what is seen by both. "Seeing well" means that if you examine it in this way, then what I see myself is seeing well, because it is what I see myself. In order to accomplish this seeing well, the verse "with my needs" is spoken, because seeing well is definitely showing what is seen. Being attached to desire is being attached to desire. Focusing single-mindedly is being single-minded. Being both attached to desire and single-minded, it is single-minded with desire. The mind that has single-mindedness with desire, that is the mind transformed by single-mindedness with desire. It means that for one's own needs, it has become a mind of single-mindedness with desire. Like this, "entering for the sake of wealth" is entering into stealing. Faults and virtues are the difference between virtues and non-virtues. "Virtue for the sake of wealth" means selling to wealth. "For the sake of becoming the lord of the gods" is for the sake of the power of the gods, meaning for the sake of being born as the king of the gods. "Contradictory to the Dharma" is the decline of the Dharma. "Wearing bad clothes" is wearing bad clothes. "Seeing wealth in the enemy's house" means going to him for the purpose of begging. "Son, good, good, great Brahmin, good" means that the nine causes mentioned above are subdued, and one's own Dharma nature.
