I will definitely give alms. To say, "Release this prisoner," is merely a refutation. I offer you the first three excellent things. Since it shows that even the three excellent things were not in what the son of Sudasa said before, it is said: If eating human flesh is not abandoned. This verse is spoken. How will speaking the truth not change? If eating human flesh is not completely abandoned, then in this way also the three excellent things will be given as alms, this was vowed. In this way, how will it be speaking the truth to promise to give the excellent things? By saying the vow of truth, it is shown to be the same as before, so there is no fault. Or, the first three excellent things are given to you, it is said. This is the meaning of the three excellent things themselves, it is not the meaning of this. If so, there is no fault, then how will that word abandon killing living beings? Without killing living beings, there is no human flesh. I have also completely abandoned my life. This verse also proves that what was shown before, that the excellent things will be given as alms, is a false statement. How will it be a vow of truth, this is shown after that. If so, how will the previous fault be completely abandoned? O king, you cannot kill living beings. After that, this is shown: For the sake of meat, living beings should not be killed. This is the verse. If that happens, it is turning away from lying and turning away from killing living beings. Therefore, when those two are not given, how are those three excellent things given? Only one excellent thing, releasing the captured person, is the alms. Other excellent things are not, this is the meaning. The decline of the kingdom, this shows that it is the decline from meaning itself. The forest, this shows the complete decline of desires. The decline from Dharma, this is the complete abandonment of Dharma. Evil is obtained because of killing living beings and not eating meat. By that itself, Dharma declines. This shows that harm is obtained in the next world. Evil is obtained, this is the visible Dharma.

It showed the attainment of the harm of the land itself. For what reason does the kingdom decline? After the verse spoken by the son of Sudasa, this verse is shown: To decline from the Dharma means to show the same thing as declining from the Dharma previously shown. To decline from governance means to show the same thing as declining from the kingship previously shown. To decline from happiness means to show the same thing as what was previously shown: "I experience the suffering of the forest." To decline in fame means to show what was previously shown as obtaining a bad reputation. That source of ruin, those four causes themselves are the source of ruin. Giving rise to regret after giving means that if there is regret, regret will arise. If one cannot live without meat, in order to show the manner of meat, the verse "examined by a skilled doctor" was spoken. Examination by a doctor is beneficial. Well-prepared meat means that the doctor has examined it well, which shows the specialty of the food. It shows the meat that arises from the four places, just as the time and the disease are, the doctor will prepare it to be beneficial. Thus, for a while, it shows that one has found and achieved meat that is pleasing and desirable, and in order to show that one has also obtained happiness, the verse "The sound of the drum is pleasant, resounding like the thunder of summer" was spoken. The first half of the verse "The sound of the drum is pleasant" shows that the fruit of giving is the complete abandonment of the benefit of great enjoyment itself. Relatives, sons, and family, the latter half shows that the fruit of patience is the complete abandonment of the benefit by many servants. Regarding what should be prohibited and what is related to prohibition and what should be controlled, through the control of the cause, it becomes the control of the king's mind, and it is unreasonable to go under the control of the king's mind, why? Because one is able to conquer even those with external strength, it is unreasonable to hate the inner happiness that is to be cut off and conquered. On the path that does not harm Dharma and governance
