Affiliation and action are what should be affiliated with. Not depending on what should be affiliated with means that affiliation is not necessary. The act of serving is also not necessary, because it is acceptable to meet in any way. It is acceptable to meet in any way, associating with the noble ones becomes stable, and why is that? Because action is not necessary, associating with the noble ones does not require action. If it depends on affiliation in this way, then meeting once will never change, and why is that? Because it depends on affiliation. Shaking the head and ringing the bell are both shaking the head and ringing the bell. The noble ones cannot be swayed by anyone. The three verses beginning with "The noble ones cannot be swayed by anyone" are explained after the verse "Just being with the noble ones." The previously explained "It is acceptable to meet as one wishes," or being separated from both reverence and constant association, also explains the stability and permanence of associating with the noble ones. Now, wanting to explain the benefits of wanting to associate with and transform through the combination of reverence and constant action, this verse "The noble ones cannot be swayed by anyone" is composed. "The noble ones cannot be swayed by anyone," this is because the previously explained association with the noble ones is permanent. "To guide towards virtue in a disciplined manner," this is the previously explained "It is acceptable to meet as one wishes," because associating with the noble ones is stable. If asked how to rely on a virtuous master, the answer is: It should be done in a disciplined manner, which means to combine the act of reverence. In order to explain the two benefits of associating with the noble ones, it is said, "Being near him," which is the latter half of the verse. "Even without special effort" means even without doing actions such as listening to treatises, just being unwavering, just being unwavering and disciplined. "Being near him" means being near that virtue. The qualities of that noble person are his qualities. His qualities themselves are flowers, so they are qualities flowers. His dust is the dust of qualities, this

This is the benefit of associating with the holy. Thus, it doesn't matter how one meets temporarily, even just once with the holy ones. This is called the subsequent teaching, it is the benefit of the holy ones. Or, a holy person is one who enters into benefiting oneself, therefore no one diminishes it. One should rely on virtue, which refers to causing others to enter into benefit. Now it becomes completely stable. This begins from the subsequent teaching, it is the verse "The king's chariot is adorned with precious gold." The body also becomes unsightly due to aging. This shows that external things change. Mentioning "Jewels adorned with gold" is because, although it is reasonable for the form to remain, later it becomes unsightly due to aging, then what need is there to mention other things? Mentioning "king" is because it is associated with knowledge with a significant difference, to show his vehicle. The king's body adorned with precious gold also becomes unsightly due to aging, which shows that internal things also change. The Dharma of the holy ones does not age. This shows the cause of what was previously said, "becoming a complete teaching." Why doesn't the Dharma of the holy ones age? Therefore it is said, virtue is because following merit becomes stable, so the Dharma of the holy ones does not age, because one should become accustomed to merit. Associating with people, those merits do not change, because they have become accustomed to it, how would they change, this is its meaning. There is no need to be familiar. This begins from the subsequent teaching, it is the verse "The distance between the sky and the earth is also long." The sky is very long, from what is it long? From the earth. The earth is also very long, from what is it long? From the sky. The edge of this shore and the other shore is also long, this shore and the non-this shore. Or the earth and the sky are equally long. Similarly, the edge of this shore and the other shore is also the edge of this shore and the other shore itself. Between the mountains of the east and west
