One does not want to give away possessions because of attachment to the objects of generosity, being controlled by this unreasonable thought. If someone says, 'I give,' etc., these are verses. Because people are attached to and crave the objects of generosity. What is craving? It is grasping with a mind that is contrary to generosity, that is the meaning of this phrase. Due to attachment to oneself and fear of loss, being controlled by this thought, and promising, 'I give,' etc., these are verses. 'Thinking of something else in the mind,' means thinking of not giving in the mind. 'Miserliness is uncertain,' means due to miserliness, being attached to oneself, and being incompatible with generosity. What is uncertain miserliness? It is uncertain miserliness. The so-called uncertainty refers to the mind that does not give later, this is known afterwards. Due to abandoning the poor, and giving. 'Promising, I give,' etc., that is the meaning. 'Firmly,' means resolving to definitely give. 'Deceptive words are very harsh,' the meaning of this phrase is, regarding the suffering of the poor, abandoning or setting aside, but being unable to say such words. Language is verbal expression. 'There is no compensation,' means the fault is very great. Regarding this, revealing it by definitely grasping it, is how can one put someone else's eyes on someone else? This answer reveals this. 'Accomplished by one cause,' this is what is said. Because there is nothing that arises from only one cause, therefore there are no eyes that do not depend on other causes. Depending on other causes, even the eyes made by the gods should be given, and will depend on other causes. The so-called creating obstacles to great generosity, inner generosity is great generosity, because it is more excellent than external generosity. Because inner generosity is very difficult, it is different from those. By creating obstacles to generosity, it is shown that it cannot be prevented. The characteristic of arousing doubt is undifferentiated and

To refute the distinction of giving, namely giving eyes, it is said again. Mentioning divine wealth, grains, and precious jewels, etc. If these become obstacles to giving, then they are obstacles at that time. But it is not so, but it shows that the act of giving itself becomes a fault. Whatever is begged for, that should be given. This verse is said like this. Furthermore, to prove the faults of those obstacles to giving. Whatever is begged for, that should be given, because of what? Because the very thing begged for is obtained, and after begging, one becomes happy. This means that the receiver of the giving becomes happy. Thus, having shown that giving one's own eyes is reasonable, to show that even if wealth and grains, etc., are given to others, it is not giving. What is not desired, even if given, will not bring joy. This is to say that giving what is not agreeable does not bring joy. This shows the disagreeable and opposite situation through the power of generating virtue. Giving what is not begged for and not desired is a disagreeable and useless aspect. Like what? To illustrate with an example. What can water do for someone carried away by water? This is an example in accordance with the Dharma. Just as giving water to a thirsty person, the meaning of what is begged for is that giving is mentioned here. If what is begged for is given, people will fully embrace happiness and happiness will arise. Then, the king that, etc., the summarized meaning of this is who speaks, why speaks, how speaks, to whom speaks, etc. These should be appropriately combined. Some say, asceticism, meditation, etc., the summarized meaning of this verse is the cause of obtaining kingship, the difference between the result and the nature. Because it is done constantly and not for a short time, that is great asceticism. Great asceticism and meditation, because asceticism itself is meditation, therefore it is asceticism and meditation. Where there is the cause of giving, and the characteristics of proper discipline, etc., that is called the ritual of asceticism and meditation. It is called a ritual because of the cause of reverence. If the ritual is damaged, then who would...?
