It is for the sake of accomplishing things. Thus, this verse has explained for whose and whose benefit one begs. What is begged is the desired wealth, because the object of begging makes him obtain joy. It is said that "even with only one eye, worldly affairs can be accomplished." "Who said it" refers to the arising of doubt, asking if it was said by a god? Because it is not the conduct of others, it is a discrimination towards oneself. Therefore, the teacher spoke these words. The so-called "understanding the king's intention" is what he himself thought. The so-called "divine power" refers to if it is divine power, then why wouldn't the faculty of this eye also change in that way due to divine power? It would change. Therefore, he himself said, "Through this ritual, one will become endowed with eyes," meaning that I have given the eye, and it is the cause of the complete perfection of the Brahmin's eye endowed with divine power. The so-called "with what hope have you come here" refers to wanting to obtain one eye, that Brahmin, your hope will be fulfilled, meaning that it is the meaning of giving one eye. Fulfilling the hope is not only partial, but also giving the other two eyes. Or, the meaning here is, how can merely giving one eye fulfill the hope? Fulfilling the hope is temporarily how to obtain two eyes as well. However, he cannot beg as he hopes, why? Because he is afraid of not being given, and if he begs for two eyes, it will cause harm to the king, and it is to protect the minds of others. The hope is to temporarily obtain two eyes, therefore he himself said, "Completely fulfilling the hope," what is said is the sentence "I will also give two eyes." Otherwise, how can the hope be completely fulfilled? "My eye is for wanting one," meaning that the meaning of giving two to the beggar is this. The so-called "violent fear" is violent fear, it is violent fear accompanied by confusion. The mind tormented by both confusion and violent fear is accompanied by confusion.

It is because of fear due to power. Cowardice is the change of behavior. Power is sadness. Fear is the mind. Unreasonable and harmful means associated with harm. Or it refers to meaningless, unreasonable, and associated. Because of the great pleasure in giving, it prevents the giving of eyes. Wanting to accomplish the unreasonable and harmful giving of eyes, therefore, the verses such as "because this Brahmin is alone" are spoken. Whether to give or not should be decided by considering cherished and uncherished. Because there are categories of cherishing loneliness and multitude, and cherishing the eyes. "All of us" refers to the multitude, why abandon the Brahmins, kings, Vaishyas, etc., including children, middle-aged, and old people? In order to be harmful to everything, it is therefore shown that temporarily abandoning the eyes is unreasonable. Harmful is: Please do not burn those who create the happiness of beings with the flames of sorrow. This is because of the saying, "When beings are happy, the king is happy." Now, giving eyes is unreasonable. This is to prove unreasonableness. Distinguishing the objects that cannot be given is to show that others can be given. In order to show what the others are, two verses such as "able to generate great glory" are spoken. Merely "wealth that generates great glory" includes all the objects of giving, namely, what can be enjoyed, what is pleasing, what eliminates the suffering of hunger and thirst, the pleasure of enjoying sexual desire, and utensils, because wealth and so on are said in this way. Because it can eliminate disputes, wealth and so on are the meaning of this word. Precious is because it is pleasing. Mentioning vehicles and elephants is to eliminate the suffering caused by fatigue. "The sound of anklets shaking rings" refers to the utensils for enjoying sexual desire. Houses and times

The phrase "Always Happy" indicates that there is no dispute. It is unreasonable to give away eyes, and this is distinguished by two verses such as "How can one give another's eyes to another?" These two reasons explain that giving away eyes is unreasonable, because even if you give away your own eyes, it will not cause the other person to grow eyes. If they could really grow, then your eyes would still exist even without being given away. The phrase "Others with eyes" indicates that one should not gouge out eyes. Even if one has eyes but lacks abundant wealth, and the aforementioned possession of wealth, which is more precious? Are eyes more precious? Or is possessing wealth more precious? If one considers this question, then wealth is the most important. Because having eyes but lacking wealth leads to decline. Even if one has eyes but lacks abundant wealth, and the blind person who has wealth but lacks eyes, which is better? Poverty is not the problem. If one is poor but has eyes, seeing the wealth of others will cause suffering. Having abundant wealth, even if blind, one can still enjoy through other senses. Therefore, please give from your possessions! This means that one should give away possessions, not eyes. Here, too, by distinguishing that giving away eyes is unreasonable, it is shown that other things can be given away. Taking "For one" as a premise, it is explained by two verses such as "Wealth that increases splendor." "How can one give to another?" is the distinction. What will the phrase "Other deities" show? If one desires both wealth and eyes, then wealth is the most beneficial, and giving away eyes is not permissible. After saying "What should one give?" with three verses such as "Is," it is argued from the perspective that giving away eyes is reasonable, starting from the decline of intention and the decline of action. Two of these are the decline of intention, and one is the decline of action, with a total of three reasons. That is, attachment to the object of giving, or attachment to oneself and fear of decline, or recognition because of abandoning the suffering of the poor.
