It shows the law of karma. Similarly, in the Jataka of the Monkey, because he tried to kill himself, he was immediately overwhelmed by leprosy. Now, in the Jataka of Speaking Patience, because he tried to kill himself, immediately there appeared a plague burning like fire, and the earth cracked and he fell into it. In the Jataka of Crested Bodhi, the king who harmed the Bodhisattva did not immediately receive unpleasant results, because he had no hatred towards the Bodhisattva, and he had no ordinary family and wife. In the Jataka of the Goose, because there was no evil thought, and because he wanted to meet by praising the merits of the Bodhisattva, even though he harmed the Bodhisattva, he did not receive unpleasant results. In the Jataka of the Great Bodhi, because the king had no evil thought, and the disrespect was only temporary, there were no unpleasant results. In the Jataka of Sharabha, the king also had no evil thought, and the act of harming was only temporary, and the act of harming the Bodhisattva was also because he did not know he was a Bodhisattva before, and the king did not cause harm, so there were no unpleasant results. Therefore, these are mentioned first because they are of lesser patience. Other than these Jatakas, the Ruru Jataka, the Monkey Jataka, and the Jataka of Speaking Patience are arranged later because they become special in order. For harming the benefiting Bodhisattva, the latter three will ripen unpleasant results, because there is no opportunity for the mind. For the Bodhisattva, there is no harm, and there is no evil thought, even if those monkeys trampled on the Bodhisattva, it is the Bodhisattva's permission, and not for other reasons, so there are no unpleasant results. The other Jatakas also have no opportunity for the mind. If it is arranged in such an order, then for those who enter the practice of patience, it is patience.

The forms are shown in order, which is reasonable to show the method of accomplishing it. The order of these Jataka tales should be understood in this way, and even if there are those who do not take sides, they should be written in the books in this way. The chapter on patience, the third section, is complete. "However you meet," means wanting to manifestly do evil, or wanting to manifestly do good. The extremely famous lineage and the one with splendor, these two show the power of the leader. Because they can fully grasp the merits, the subjects are close, which shows the power of the secret word. Because of the great majesty, the arrogant little kings prostrate, which shows the power of joy. The garland of a hundred rays of merit is the garland of a hundred rays of merit. Who has a hundred rays? It is the one who has a hundred rays of merit. Who is happy to see like the moon? It is the one who is happy to see like the moon. Therefore, he is called the son Moon, because he is like the moon, so he is named the son Moon, showing that his name has merit. Being good at benefiting means that unwholesome dharmas that have not arisen are not allowed to arise, and that one feels disgusted with unwholesome dharmas that have already arisen. Being skilled in gathering, and increasing respect more and more, means generating wholesome dharmas, and repeatedly cultivating wholesome dharmas that have already arisen. In order to determine complete protection, it means that wholesome dharmas should be cultivated. Therefore, this Jataka tale is to show the perfection of diligence, showing that unwholesome dharmas that have not arisen are not allowed to arise, and that those that have already arisen are abandoned. Because there is no abandonment of unwholesome dharmas, there is no opportunity to generate, increase, and abide in wholesome dharmas. When showing that merit becomes like a friend, if you ask who is the friend of sentient beings? In order to show the one who is like a friend, the verses of discipline and hearing

Furthermore. Or, what are the qualities that are clearly related to others and are said to possess a hundred rays of merit? The verse "Discipline, hearing, giving, compassion, and taming" is recited. "Those and those" indicate that other qualities are also possessed. "Having qualities" means having the qualities themselves, meaning that he has many qualities. "Like being adorned with the ornament of youth" means like the youth adorned with the ornament of a Bodhisattva, youth is beautiful with the qualities that have arisen now, therefore it is adorned with the ornament of the qualities of youth. Or, like being adorned with the ornament of youth, it is extremely adorned with new qualities, therefore it is said to be adorned with the ornament of youth. It is both completely pure and vast, so it is completely pure and vast. The two, complete purity and vastness, are pleasing, that is, complete purity and vastness are pleasing, similarly, so are his qualities. "Becoming a place" indicates that because it has become a place with a hundred rays of merit, this indicates the power of the mantra. "Being able to protect the subjects" indicates the power of joy. "Because of not being stingy and having a good nature" indicates the perfection of the cause. "Nature, cause, and seed" are not other meanings, this indicates the perfection of itself. The first two indicate that the actions of the person are perfect. "The enjoyment of the throne" means allowing the owner's power to be exercised. "Extremely skilled" refers to the combination of hearing, wisdom, and mindful and manifestly diligent effort as previously shown. "Skilled and possessing Dharma" means also possessing benefit and desire. So, how does one speak well? It means with special offerings, therefore it is for himself, because he likes to speak well. "The arrival of spring" refers to the arrival of the month of the season when flowers bloom. The leaves of the trees
